As soon as you walk through the door this wonderful hotel gives you a ‘warm hug’. The decor and furnishings are beautiful all the way through from the reception area, to the lounge, dining/breakfast room, stairway and room. We didn’t arrive until late on a Friday evening and Sally had very kindly already worked out that our journey time would have been about 2.5 hours and after such a long drive we would probably be too tired to go out and find somewhere to eat, so she arranged for the kitchen to stay open a bit later so we could eat in their restaurant. Sally even took our bag up to our room so we could head straight to the restaurant. The food and service was absolutely first class and I can see why non residents go there to eat. Whilst at our table Sally came over to us to say she had noticed how tall my partner was (6ft 6”), so she had upgraded us to a room with a larger bed free of charge. Our room had everything we could ask for, beautiful bedding, lovely toiletries and fluffy towels and bath robes. The lounge area is so inviting and comfortable and you can order your drinks from there, so no need to stand and order at a bar. We sat in the lounge with the owners (Sally and Joanna) and listened to their story about the refurbishment of the hotel. Their hard work and passion for the place has really paid off. Breakfast is included in the price and was delicious, with plenty to choose from. All the staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you and the food the chef turns out is second to none. Would we go back? Yes, in a heart beat.

Lovely individualy themed rooms in a well presented unique boutique hotel. Great location so close to the beach and the steam railway station. Food at hotel was excellent with good choice of freshly cooked breakfast and evening meal and a nice garden bar for sunny evenings, enjoyed the happy hour, two for one cocktails! Sally and Jo are attentive hosts.

A beautiful boutique Hotel. Tastefully furnished and designed. Alot of thought and love has gone into each room. Super clean. Lovely food. A fantastic team on board. A few minutes walk to the beach. Have visited twice. Most importantly, mum enjoyed every moment at the Burlington. ( And she's a fussy customer :-) )... Thank you Sally & Joanna, and your fantastic team!

My husband and I have just spent a fantastic weekend at Burlington Bertie’s , the service was immaculate the restaurant food was amazing the whole hotel was friendly, spotless and I would sincerely recommend.

On arrival (we were early for check in & knew this) we parked our car and at the front door is a sign asking you to wipe your feet before entering the entrance hall. The inner door was locked, we rang the bell, no reply, so eventually left our car parked and went in search of a toilet and something to eat. Not the most auspicious start. I realise the check in desk is not manned until 3 but for no one to even answer the door makes you feel unwelcome after a 4 hour drive. The hotel itself is immaculate, clean and comfortable. Our room was lovely, very clean, light and airy, beautifully decorated. But the beautiful guest information folder in the room also had a Damages & Removal Policy which made it very clear about charges you would incur if you slipped up and stain or mark anything (whether accidental or wilful) or remove anything in your room. The hotel reserve the right to charge your saved card for any damage of any kind + postage cost of replacement broken/taken items etc. I appreciate people should be respectful of the room and obviously not remove any items, but I could not relax for fear of making a mark on anything. The list went on, even including behaviour at the hotel. Like the sign on the entrance door, it is clumsy and over the top, making guests feel slightly uncomfortable. Sophie is a wonderful asset to the hotel, like her partner the chef. She is helpful, very kind and hardworking. The food is amazing, breakfast is all freshly cooked to order. We bought some of The North gin before we left. We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Burlington Bertie’s. It’s a lovely, if somewhat expensive hotel. Little things made it not quite get the 5 stars from us.

Just come back from a fantastic weekend here. We took my elderly parents away with us and they had the room on the ground floor so they didn’t have to use the stairs. All the staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are exceptionally clean with tea and coffee making facilities. The beds are so comfortable with lovely Egyptian cotton sheets and pillows. There are no words to describe the quality of the food in the North Restaurant it is exceptional. I would like to thank Sally and Joanna for making our trip so memorable. Sophie made us feel so welcoming and kept the drinks flowing in the Gin bar.I would like to thank all the staff who work so hard and make you feel so special. I would definitely recommend Burlington Berties to all.

Sophie and Matt were a great combination. My husband and I have been to establishments with more staff, but they have not met the service of these two. Matt your food is fabulous, high end dinning. Sophie your the hostess with the mostest. Thank you for a fabulous evening

I.stayed 4 nights withmy partner. The good things were that our room was quite spacious and very clean and tge bed was comfortable.the food was good However the negatives were that when we arrived after driving for 200 miles we were not greeted with any welcome just we were expected to pay the money for four nights there and then before we had been in our room! We then said could we check in a little earlier. After a firm no my partner was approached and told that if we paid £40 extra we could! In the evening I said could I have a snack off their garden menu as I was not very hungry and it was drizzling they said the garden menu could only be had outside!! I then asked for a g and t and was asked to pay for it before i had even drunk it.! We are both in our eightees and were upset by the attitude of this place and surprised at the nearly All good reviews. We have given many good reviews on trip advisor but we felt very uncomfortable at this hotel.

Stayed here for 3 nights in The Aldwych Room which overlooks the front garden. Spacious room, comfortable bed, great shower. Spotlessly clean. The food at breakfast & dinner in the evening is delicious with local produce used. Fish dishes superb. Interesting to be able to see the chef's at work. BB has a great team of staff. All highly trained & it show's. Nothing is too much trouble. Cannot fault the place & will return!

Fist visit. Beautifully done venue. Lovely garden sun trap. Treated ourselves to cocktails which were all super tasty and handmade. Added the fresh crab balls from the garden menu. Wonderful mix. Would love to have had the time to chill all evening but alas we had to go. Respect to the girls and their fab team.

Our first visit and we can't wait to go again. Excellent hosts for who nothing is too much. Top class rooms beautifully decorated and lovely linen. The outdoor cocktail bar is a delight and then into the restaurant for a top class meal. The location so close to the sea adds to the all round experience.

Tastefully decorated, quality fixture & fittings. Very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast & dinner. Pleasant & helpful staff. Car parking very convenient near the front door. Enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the sunshine in the attractive front garden.

Excellent evening, started in the Garden bar with cocktails, such a lovely little sun trap! Then followed by a delicious meal in the restaurant. Excellent hosts Sally, Joanna and their fabulous staff. And not forgetting Henry, Louie & Finley 🐶🐶🐶

Wanted to introduce my cousin to Burlington Berties, so went for 2 nights over BH weekend. We stayed in the Miss Vesta Tilley Suite, which was fabulous. Beautiful, comfortable beds, lovely lounge area, big bathroom (no bath but super walk in shower) and all with great decor. Everything was clean and tidy. We had dinner Saturday night which was superb. My cousin had a special, which was a seafood platter and that was amazing, I had fish which was lovely. As always great service. Breakfast has a huge choice,hot, fresh and cooked to order.
