H'life Hotel (Shenzhen OCT)

This is my second trip to Shenzhen in the past 20 years, and my friend (who I call Gege) has recommended this hotel. My flight was late at night; the receptionist barely understands English, but they love to help. My room was on the 4th floor. It was a mini single room type, but it has every facility I need. The room is clean—not that new, but more spacious than I thought. The only thing they don't provide here in this room type is a refrigerator. But it is fine with me. The breakfast is lovely. I tried everything except the congee because I didn't know how to order it. Oh, but you need to ask for the "zhāo cháng quán" at the reception counter if you book the room that includes breakfast. It will serve from 7.30 a.m. until around 10 a.m.   I love the location of this hotel so much. It is located on the beautiful boulevard and just a few minutes away from OCT Loft, the art square. Lawson is just around the corner, as is the pharmacy, as well as some local restaurants. The Qiaocheng East Metro station is about 7 minutes away, but walking along the boulevard makes it feel like 3 minutes to me. The housekeepers are nice. Actually, everyone at the hotel is. I mentioned the housekeeper because she cleans my room every day, and that's what I need from coming back to travel for a whole day, but I feel that it was extra clean as she changed my towel and put in new, clean amenities for me every day. I tried to communicate with her on my third day and showed her my appreciation for her work. On my last day of staying at this hotel, I left a note on the bed, written in my bad handwriting in Chinese. I hope she will find it. The receptionist on that day also helped me call a taxi when my phone application was not working.   I love everything in this hotel. The price is reasonable. I won't say cheap. You get what you pay for, and for me, I got a little more than I expected. I'll be back once every year and will definitely book this hotel again.   If you are a solo traveler and looking for a lovely hotel in a nice location, not as busy in the city, and love the arts and a bit of strolling on the greenery boulevard, then H'Life Hotel (OCT Loft) or Huali Hotel is what you need. And booking with Trip.com is my best choice. My flight was cancelled once when the typhoon hit Shenzhen early this month. I had to cancel at the last minute, but I booked it with the free cancellation option. So, all was well. I got the refund later and then booked it again in the next 2 weeks. So please keep your good quality and maintain this standard, and then I will come back and recommend people come here too. See you again next year!

The location was convenient and the shops and bars downstairs provided for some enjoyable times.

Have stayed here several times now. Great location in the middle of OCT Loft, breakfast is ok, staff are great, room is comfy and clean.

Nothing to complain about. Perfect location to go the Hongkong University Hospital in Shenzhen

Not far from oct loft. Which has a lot of restaurants nearby. Small room with no view. Nice terrace outside the lobby.

I booked two rooms and one is ok. Another room got the musty smell. The air conditioner didn't work well and drop water after sometime. I checked in at night time.so didn't ask for a change. One room has a fridge while another no. Price is reasonable and located near to the theme park. Will.consider other hotels next time.

The hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood. But the location of the hotel is nearby some bars. The windows are not really well insulated. At night, there might be a lot of noice from outside. The noice from the hallway is also very clear. If you are not lucky, there can be a lot of noice from late guests. The hotel is so-called non smoking. But there is actually no policy for really prohibiting smoking. Everywhere in the hallway there are bins for putting out of cigarettes. And when there are quests smoking, you can smell it everywhere. Through the hallway and in your room. Everything in the hotel is up for renovation. Everything is not the standard you should get for the price you pay. The cleaning staff is really nice. But the hotel personnel are not really welcoming. The are friendly, but you don’t get the welcoming feeling.

The hotel is not the most expensive hotel. For ¥399 you have a reasonable room. The bed is alright. For me, that’s the reason I changed to this hotel in the neighborhood (because of family nearby). But the overall look and feel is old, worn out, ready for renovation. The Wi-Fi is not always adequate. Maybe too many people using it at the same time? The rooms are reasonable soundproof. Just when people in the hallway is talking, you will hear everything.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at H'life Hotel in the OCT district of Shenzhen, and overall, it was a satisfactory experience. My room was clean and adequately furnished, providing a comfortable space for relaxation after a day of exploring the city. The amenities provided were basic but functional, and I appreciated the complimentary Wi-Fi, which made it easy to stay connected during my stay. One of the highlights of my visit was the breakfast buffet. While not extravagant, it offered a decent variety of dishes, catering to different tastes. The dining area had a pleasant ambiance, making it an excellent place to start the day. However, I must mention a few minor issues during my stay. The housekeeping service could have been more consistent, as there were a couple of instances when my room was not fully restocked with toiletries. Additionally, the hotel's facilities, though adequate, were slightly dated and could benefit from some renovation. In conclusion, my stay at H'life Hotel in the OCT district was pleasant and met my basic needs. While there is room for improvement in certain aspects, I still enjoyed my time there and would consider staying again if I visit Shenzhen.
