Hotel is well located in city and facility are brilliant and cost wise very nice

Had a very disappointing stay. One member of staff in particular a ginger younger fella was unacceptably rude - unprofessional and through his in actions and horrible service I ended up being out of pocket a lot and a lot of time wasted !!! Premier inn complaints couldn't care less. Soon as they have your money they do not care about service or quality

This hotel has many strengths. The location is excellent, near rail, bus, and tram. It is quiet, the staff is friendly, the price is excellent, and the beds are comfortable. I stayed several nights; and one night my room was not cleaned although I requested it. The big problem is very, very slow wifi. In the mornings, email loaded successive messages so slowly that it is almost unusable (I used Gmail). Downloads were about 130K (K!). It was like I was in 2004 again. It is unacceptable in 2024. I went to a nearby pub to get faster access. Slow wifi is the primary reason I am giving it 2 stars.

Arrived and was allocated room 206. Once we got to the room we noticed several faults with the room : No toilet paper No shower gel Only 1 usb working Both bedside lights not working Bathroom skirting boards not the cleanest. Dressing table area had dirty marks (looked like cup marks). Went down to reception and said I wasn’t happy with the room and was totally unacceptable to be given a room with no toilet roll or shower gel. Reception did offer us a change of room but we were staying one night and didn’t want the hassle as we’d had a pretty long day already. So she went and replenished the toilet roll/shower gel straight away. The reception staff were great. We went to the restaurant for food as we had the meal deal and the staff/service were great. Very friendly, polite and helpful. Our evening meals were both very nice. Breakfast in morning however was not the best. Hardly any food in the dishes, beans were cold and hardly any danish pasty type items. The spatulas for eggs were all caked up and not the nicest. One of the kitchen porters was sorting the eggs and moving them around and just placed the dirty spatula back…come on man, it’s not that much to ask for clean utensils, when you sort food just put clean ones back, not that difficult and takes 2 seconds. Can’t see me returning here again if in Sheffield.

We stayed on the top floor in the premier plus rooms. Rooms were nice - good size and quiet. One smelled a bit odd. I didn’t complain as we didn’t have time. Nice toiletries in shower. WiFi was fine for basic needs. Check in easy at kiosk. Bar area nice and relaxed for evening drinks. We didn’t eat here. Area feels bit rough but was only 10 mins walk from station. I didn’t feel unsafe. Would prob try and get a hotel in a more central area next time.
