We’ve always been intrigued by this hotel. We enjoyed the rich history of the place. This is reflected by the intricate details found throughout the hotel—beautiful wood parquet, stained glass, etc. Our room was great, and the bathroom has luxe sundries and facilities (Dyson hairdryer, heated toilet seat, bidet). Included in our room is the access to the Executive Lounge, which offers beverages (canned drinks, a bottle of red and white wine, a bottle of liquor, coffee and tea) and an assortment of packaged snacks, biscuits, and pastries. We didn’t take the tour because they don’t offer it in English. The breakfast was just ok.

Moller Villa is a hotel I will recommend strongly to stay if you visit Shanghai. The architecture is unique and well furnished interior. You should join in the guided tour at 10am daily to learn more about the history of the building and their owners.

The building is very special, it’s obviously got character but well the inside is very dated, some of the fixtures are not very well detailed for example the shower has some screws coming off and well it’s an old building so it’s understandable, the breakfast was good so was the coffee but half of the staff was friendly and half was a bit careless. It was a good experience.

The hotel is very good. It is not my first time there. I really chose it again because it was nice, though I can't understand why in the both time the front desk suggested to give us an upgrade to an attic room. The previous time I accepted, but apparently the room was so narrow and I didn't like it. Maybe others like it, it is just my opinion. The second time when I went they also suggested this upgrade but we preferred to stay in the room we chose. They were very helpful and nice

Seen all the time moving the trash from one building to another and passing the front door is not the best view for the guest.
Some guest very loud during breakfast, staff should take care of and advise this type of guess, the rest of the guest don't need to suffer this behavior.

AWESOME property. I have stayed here many times and this hotel comes HIGHLY reccomended!! A paradise oasis among the modern Shanghai landscape.

They called us twice at 8 and 10 p.m., asking me to come back to the front desk. Then someone came to our room and took a pic of my passport, my visa, and the stamp of my last entry to China.

This hotel is in a great location for restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is quirky and beautiful. Sadly the lady at breakfast didn't speak English and just abandoned me to help Chinese speaking customers.

Such a great place to stay. It really does look like it is from a fairy tale and yet it is located right in downtown Shanghai. I noticed in some comments that the hotel is dated and that the walls are really thin - well that is what you get with a villa over 100 years old. If you want history and you want somewhere with a great breakfast, and ultimately something different from your typical downtown hotel then stay here!

The Moller Villa is an outstanding hotel which will take your breath away, It is located in downtown Shanghai which make it so convenient to find places around for coffee or dining.
I stayed there and felt absolutely spoilt. The staff are so friendly and the environment is rich in history, well maintained and peaceful.
Book way in advance as there are not may rooms in this hotel. It has a restaurant, many lounge areas, and a beautiful garden where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning.
Being in this hotel feels like a step back in time due to its classical features. Despite it is a very old mansion, it was restored into a unique and elegant boutique hotel.
