I am quite happy having visited this one-of-a-kind resort but not all was as expected. Plus: - Superb breakfast. Some items I never had that good (Truffle Kimchi Croissant, Avocado toast). All a-la-carte works well. - Breathtaking villa. The Hawksbill Villa is at least on par, for example, with the high category villas in Conrad Rangali and the (much smaller) basic villas in Hilton Aminghiri. - Main Pool large and very beautiful (only 120cm deep) - Marine life can be seen (unfortunately mostly from the beach, see below): Sea turtles (for the first time i saw one hatching), plenty of rays and small sharks. - The island is beautiful and it is a joy to walk around it. - The bicycles are simple but work well. Very convenient. - The multitude of birds add to the atmosphere in a very nice way. Minus: - The list of activities had just been replaced by a new one. For example, I was hoping for "outer reef snorkelling" and "Sundowner cruise". It turned out that all these activities had been replaced by Yoga and Pilates classes (!!) . In a resort with limited things to do, perhaps not a good idea. I tried to raise this issue two times but was strangely blocked off. - The letter mentioning the (mostly standard [breakfast...] or not applicable [late checkout]) diamond benefits advertises "a symphony of benefits". These are, however, subpar compared to similar resorts. - During my 5 day stay, due to the currents and low water level also snorkeling or swimming from/on the beach was impossible. I do not know if this is an exception. Observations: - Obviously, it is necessary plan and arrange the intended activities well in advance. - With a free dragon pass registration one can visit the Mahe lounge after departure from the resort at about half the hotel rate for the 'non-alcoholic drinks and sweets' option if one has to kill time at the airport. - The resort had a very low occupancy end of September, maybe 10 guests altogether. As a consequence, flights were offered for free for stays of more than 5 nights. I could not take advantage of this huge savings, though. - The plane to Platte is managed by a company belonging to the Seychelles government. They are strict with check-in luggage weight. The hand luggage is an other story but you have to carry it on your lap.
