Falcon Manor Hotel

I was really looking forward to this but unfortunately we were really disappointed. We booked Sunday lunch over the Christmas holidays, The starters were nice for mains I ordered roast beef priced at £22 and my husband a burger which I think was about £18. The roast beef lunch was poor, don’t get me wrong there was plenty of beef, however there was a distinct lack of anything else on the plate. The little veg there was, was tucked under the beef which consisted of a few carrots and a little bit mange tout. The roast potatoes were tiny and extremely dry. They felt like what I would serve up the next day! For the price of the roast beef lunch I would have expected healthy portions of veg like mash sprouts, swede etc. it was really disappointing. My husband’s burger was really difficult to eat served on a board, even the waitress commented that she didn’t know why the burgers were served that way. We could have just put down to a poor choice of Sunday lunch venues but the biggest disappointment was the service charge added to the bill. I want to pay a service charge when food is plentiful and something I’ve enjoyed but there was not choice in paying it ! I felt we paid for the surroundings to be honest which are lovely but as for Sunday lunch there are nicer places to go for a decent Sunday lunch ! Wish I could have be writing a very different review but sadly this is what we experienced.

Really disappointed- my husband bought a night away as a Christmas gift for me for tonight (26th Dec) unfortunately myself and my husband have not been well at all and asked if we could move the stay to another date- we didn’t want a refund if we could still come and stay on a date we were well but unfortunately (unlike any other hotel we have had to move dates for because of illness) this one just charged the card and said no. Truly disappointed and ruined a lovely Christmas gift that I was looking forward to as a family.

Met by attentive staff.we were a little early as our lunch guests had not arrived so we took our drinks into the lounge where there was comfortable seating. I helped myself to the Sunday papers laid out in the hall. Our friends arrived and after drinks moved into the lovely dining room Our orders were quickly taken and it was not too long before our starters appeared. All tasted good and then the main course where we had two roast beefs one roast Turkey and had the fish and chips with thick chips mushy peas. The fish was so tasty and very large. All I can say is that the food was excellent. We didn't bother with the sweets but had coffee instead. An excellent meal for four people and I can well recommend this establishment.

Yes stayed here for one night in December, just what we needed. Great walks locally Lovely Manor House. Read some of the reviews But worth a visit tho Yes a little warm, but wud rather that than be cold. Staff and food lovely Yes I would stay again.

Slept in a room with a large double bed but it actually was just 2 singles pushed together. went for a night away from the kids but barely slept a wink.l due to the heat. The bathroom was mouldy around the bath and the wallpaper was peeling off near the radiator. When we went down the following morning the receptionist handed out bags to a couple leaving asking how the stay had been and fussing and when I checked out rather than asking how the stay was she just asked if I wanted to check out and took the key. At breakfast we took a seat and the same lady took orders of 2 other older couples before ours knowing we had sat down before and then brought out breakfast leaving us until last. The breakfast wasn’t great, bacon rock hard, tomato all shrivelled up and not that great.looked like it had just been left under a heat lamp and looked ridiculous on the massive serving plate. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Flacon Manor and will not be returning again. Not one to complain but for the price we paid seemed like we weren’t as “special “ as the other customers (maybe our age and appearance )

Place has gone massively downhill .. one member of the team at reception is really rude ans the rest of the team are amazing. Place is falling apart bath taps missing etc etc... wouldn't go there again ! When you complain don't even bother to respond !. Stains on carpets one star hotel. Use to go semi regularly not anymore
