The Norfolk Mead Hotel

My wife was given a gift voucher for her 60th to use at this hotel. Lovely old building well maintained and well run. On our one night stay we hit what had been a very rainy spell so it was difficult to really enjoy and appreciate the extensive grounds as it was a bit soggy. We did manage a pre breakfast walk down to the river. New Spa was under construction while we were there. We arrived around 3pm and the busy lunch service meant we had to use the overflow car park a shortish walk away from the hotel. It was a tad soggy and muddy too but it looks like a new parking area is being laid behind the spa. We were given an upgrade to the bridal suite which was fab and enjoyed a lovely balcony overlooking the grounds. Nice room with some nice touches. Breakfast was good quality. We didn't have evening meal at the hotel. We have already recommended this hotel to friends. One night for two with breakfast £155.

I organised a party for my wife's birthday. We had ninety guest attend the Garden room events area and we had 10 family members stay the night. All i can say is that all the staff were fantastic everyone from Danni and Frankie in organising the party to the hotel and catering staff for looking after us so well. Great venue, great staff, great food and drink. top job, so refreshing in this day and age.

We had a most comfortable night in a very well appointed room. Very good breakfast and the staff were all cheerful and very helpful. Having a a family party there that night it was so good to just go upstairs and go to bed knowing one was going to have a good night's sleep in an excellent bed

The best afternoon tea that I have ever had! A delicious mix of sandwiches, pastries, tea (or coffee) and cakes, along with great service (including refills of tea and a box to take home the excess cakes - finished this evening). Perfect afternoon out, in beautiful surroundings. Compliments and thanks to all.

Perfectection. I had a birthday party and all went faultlessly for the dinner and 5 couples staying overnight. Such polite attentive staff. A delicious meal and in a private room for 14 guests. The bedroom was immaculate the weather sadly didn’t let me sit on my balcony.

We had a very pleasant stay in this lovely hotel. It is good to see a hotel that is so well run. The staff were very professional and friendly and their aim was to make sure they could do everything to make your stay perfect. All of the food that came out of the kitchen was excellent from the morning scones, perfectly presented sandwiches and exceptional breakfasts and dinner. We stayed in Chanterell which is very spacious and comfortable with a good bathroom and wonderful shower. The bath was strange! It was a difficult design to manipulate but probably designed for newly weds! Thank you to everyone and compliments to the owners.

Such a beautiful setting, with attentive staff to meet your every need. The food was also superb! I booked The Norfolk Meade as an early birthday present for my husband. I requested Scones in the bedroom upon arrival - they were delicious, as were the adorable tiny chocolate brownies!

I went to a wedding at the Norfolk Mead on 25th May. We booked the Blackberry accomodation to stay over night, as we were apart of the wedding party and we have small children. The Norfolk Mead as a wedding venue was beautiful. The space is open and bright and the gardens are well looked after. The staff were all really attentive, professional and appeared relaxed despite being so busy. The catering at the wedding was really memorable. The selection was great and catered for everyone. The BBQ meats were so well marinated and cooked to perfection. The salads were really fresh. The accomodation was really comfortable and luxurious. I would highly recommend to anyone to book the Blackberry accomodation for a wedding day. It was a welcomed refuge for small kids when tired. Also, a major perk was being able to see the venue from the room, so we knew when the order of the day was moving. The next day we had breakfast with the newlyweds and family. The small breakfast buffet had pastries, juices, cereal and fruit. We ordered a cooked breakfast. All the food was delightful and ended our whole visit on a high.

We had our wedding here 2 weeks ago today. The venue was perfect. Dani and Frankie both always on hand if needed. The staff were always polite, helpful and hardworking. The food was impeccable, all came out hot. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Looking forward to coming back. It’s now our special place.
