Riviera Town House

The lady on reception was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. The downstairs communal area was classic and pleasant and other than changing the carpet I personally wouldn’t change anything. The lift is great but if someone doesn’t close the doors correctly as in our case you have to walk up each floor to close the door on the lift for it to work. (Husband waiting knee replacements so couldn’t do the stairs ) We were on the top floor and the windows do not open, a fan is in the room but it circulates hot air. It was very hot, the floor boards all creak, as expected in an old property but as previous reviews the rooms need updating, honestly just a bit of paint and carpet change then screw them down. The rooms are very small, we had a small case which sat under the desk and then we had a large tool type of box that you can pull that we had things in for an event and there was no where to put it so we had to put it in the bathroom, so we could not close the door and made it narrow to walk in. Car parking is practically non existent you may be lucky but hats off if you get one. The multi storey is about 5 mins walk from the hotel but costs £12 for 24 hours so factor that in. The hotel is in good walking distance to the main shopping area and food and bars nearby.

The hotel is a.lovely old building that is very well kept. The lift is original and works by pulling over 2 gates so you are reliant on others shutting it when they get out. Lovely but small room which we knew when booking. Lovely communal ares. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

Would highly recommended this hotel It’s in a fantastic location close to everything. Staff was very welcoming and friendly breakfast was excellent. Nice little touches in room such as tea/coffee and shower gels , really comfy bed room was spotless as was bathroom.
