The Helaina

We stayed here for the first time as we were attending a concert at the Spa. It was an easy walk, about 20 minutes at a steady pace. We received such a lovely warm welcome and shown to our room on the first floor. The décor throughout the hotel is lovely, quite modern with lots of nice paintings and mirrors on the walls. Our room was nice albeit quite small and I did feel rather cramped. It was quite overlooked out of the back so I was glad we had net curtains up at the window. We had to turn the radiator down and open the window as the room was very warm. The bed was nice and comfy although my partner said it was too hard for him. The room had a small wardrobe, bedside cabinets, desk with hospitality tray, two chairs (I would have taken one of those out because it was quite cramped) and a modern bathroom. The toilet was rather strange, I am 5’1” and my feet couldn’t touch the floor when sat on the toilet. I have never seen one so high. The shower had a very big shower head but the water flow to the shower couldn’t cope so the flow was quite disappointing. We ran out of milk during our stay and thought we might find supplies in the front room which had several items you could purchase and an honesty box. Even in the fridge there was no milk, so we had to do without our morning coffee. I know we could have rung the buzzer but didn’t want to disturb the host just for milk. Breakfast was help yourself to cereals, croissants, yogurts, fresh fruit etc. We then both had a lovely full English breakfast. It was piping hot and tasted so fresh, it was lovely. You could tell the products were sourced locally and it was cooked to perfection. We were served with a smile and a nice chat with the lady running the place. We will definitely return as we really enjoyed our stay there but perhaps book a room with a sea view next time.

After staying in their apartments , and only having a few days away we decided to try their b&b and just like the apartments it didn’t disappoint. The customer service on arrival was excellent, the breakfast service was also excellent as so was the breakfast itself. The room was nice and clean and we had one over looking the sea, so it was nice to wake up to the view of the sea and cliffs. We loved it so much we have provisionally booked the apartment again for next year. A big thank you to Gill, Tom and your fantastic team for yet another faultless stay.

We stayed in the B&B side last year and had a fantastic stay with great breakfasts and great hosts. This year we decided to stay in one of the self catering apartments. Can i just say we were blown away with apartment. There was only 2 of us but if need be it had 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4. We were in Room 2 on the 1st floor. It had everything we needed, fridge freezer, dishwasher, etc etc. Tea, coffee, fluffy towels, bathroom gels, shampoos etc...basically everything. It was cosy in the living room and the central heating worked a dream on a particularly cold Friday. The view from the room was excellent with the waves, paddle boarders and surfers to watch. I'll let the photos speak for themselves but the apartment was superb Thanks Helaina, we'll be back for sure 😊👍

Amazing B&B with fantastic sea View. The room was spacious and beautiful, very clean with king bed. They used pillow protectors and mattress protector that’s making our stay even better, we really appreciate ot. (Room no.10). The bathroom was big with a great shower and the water flow was very generous. They also provided with white bathrobes. The amenities you needed in the bathroom included hand soap, shower cap, sewing kits, organic shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The breakfast was delicious and also continental breakfast was available (self service). We ordered our breakfast the night before which was perfect for us and we ordered what we needed. We love our cup of tea and they provided in the room with Yorkshire tea, green tea and herbal tea, biscuits, many type of coffees and also hot chocolate. Thank you to Luki she was very kind, friendly and attentive toward us, was always there for us when we needed her. It was our first time in Scarborough we really enjoyed our 3 night stay at The Helaina, we loved the walked from the South Bay to the North Bay, we also explored the area we enjoyed immensely being in the Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby Abbey. It We loved seafood while we were there we went to the Look out on the Piere twice, it was that good, make sure to book in advance. We loved the B&B we’ll come back. We had an amazing stay. Stayed once again could only manage 2 nights this time sadly.Excellent as usual stunning sea view lovley clean room very comfy bed free wifi that works unlike some places fantastic staff and the best breakfasts ever we love this place wouldnt stay anywhere else when we go to scarborough

Well this place is lovely we arrived to a warm welcome,and were asked what we would like for breakfast and the time we would like to eat . We were given a room on the second floor which although was not huge had everything we needed a nice comfortable bed and a lovely en-suite shower room with lovely fluffy towels excellent tea and coffee making facilities what more could you ask for. The following morning after an excellent nights sleep we went down to breakfast was amazing choice of fresh fruit and yoghurt and fresh juices and an amazing freshly cooked breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble we went out for the day and on our return found our room had been made up and tea coffee and milk were replenished.
