Awesome huts to sleep in, very amazing view staring right at the volcano. José is super funny, can cook, brings you up the volcano and represents the Cabo Verdean kitchen and culture well! It is calm and quiet, very peaceful surroundings that feel like magic. I stayed here twice and would go back a second time. Highly recommended.

Two nights stay
Stay was fine, rooms are clean and cozy and there is absolute silence, food not really special for the price. Joze is a good guide, but sometimes a bit overreacting, which I find unprofessional, also watching boundaries might help to make the place more comfortable for the guests.

Very unsafe , Jose has particularly problematic behaviours towards women! Run away from there. After my stay I called the french embassy to warn them about my experience there and the embassy told me I was the third person calling them about Jose in the last month.... I felt very unsafe and would recommend you do not stay there !!

Jose est très gentil il est drôle , il nous a amené au pic 🌋🌋. Il travaille beaucoup et c'est un endroit où aller au moins une fois dans sa vie .il cuisine bien 🍗🍚. Il est au petit soin pour ses pensionnaires.super 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

José a d’abord été très serviable et courtois. Toutefois, nous avons eu un gros soucis avec lui : Il avait proposé de nous réserver un aluguer aller retour (1000 cve/aller/pers) ou un taxi privé (6000 cve aller) Nous avons confirmé la réservation d’un aluguer collectif. A notre arrivée, José est venu nous chercher. Sans le savoir, il nous a compté le trajet comme un taxi privé. De même pour le retour! Soit un total de 120 euros !!!!!!!! Nous avons refusé de payer cette somme et de payer le prix d’un aluguer. Il a refusé Nous avons dû aller au commissariat qui finalement a accepté que nous ne payons pas cette somme. Au vue de l’agressivité de Jose, la police a décidé de nous escorter jusqu’a l’aéroport et heureusement car José nous attendait quelques rues plus loin….

Jolie découverte . Jose est un homme qui est imaginatif et à construit des chambres simples mais parfaitement tenues. le système de douche est ingénieusement conçu avec un système sur le toit de chauffage au feu de bois pour l’eau qui est rempli manuellement à travers différents bidons. Jose ne manque pas de courage ni d’énergie pour entretenir son petit hôtel et s’occuper des ses hôtes. Petit déjeuner délicieux.

Le "fort" de José, entièrement décoré par lui même en pierres de lave du coin, est une oeuvre d'art (Gaudi? Hundertwasser?). José est un super hôte ! Il sait tout faire : chauffeur, guide de randonnée, plomberie, électricité, repas, leçons d'awalé, taille de pierre de lave...très gentil avec les enfants (3 et 7 ans) qui ont adoré leur séjour dans le volcan... les enfants auraient même souhaité rester un ou deux jours de plus pour jouer encore avec les petits chats de la pension, jouer au foot avec les enfants du village, refaire une randonnée, remanger des courges du poulet et du riz préparés par José, perfectionner leur technique d'awalé. Au surplus les chambres étaient très propres, les douches étaient chaudes et il y avait bien de l'électricité... et même du wifi! Contrairement à la description annoncée par notre géoguide vert.

De passage, même pas logé sur place, Jose nous a accueilli, servi un repas basique, mais bienvenu. Il nous a organisé la rando, été nous chercher à la destination pour nous ramener au village. les logements ont l'air propres et correctes, le site est atypique et accueillant.

Si vous cherchez un logement pas cher, propre, dans un lieu unique, la pensao Casa Jose Doce est faite pour vous, rapport qualité/prix excellent. Jose est un personnage atypique loin de nos codes de vie Européen. Un dépaysement total pour un moment inoubliable !
