Farmhouse of The Palms

The owners are the kindest people I've ever met. Having said that ...the place is very remote down winding roads with nothing to do on the grounds. Our main room smelled of a must or varnish or something. We checked out early with my wife having issues, they never even offered to not charge us for the day and nite that we did NOT stay for all I know they rented it out gain... at least they could have said if I rent it ill reimburse you. Like I said very nice people, but the place not so much.

Everything about the Farmhouse comes together so beautifully, it takes a moment to step back and realize the incredible efforts that have been made to make this a very special place for guests. Veronique’s tastes for decorating are gorgeous - just perfect, from the comfortable and attractive, yet understated furnishings to the elegant accessories scattered around. Her husband Frank cooks a luscious breakfast each morning, and provides extensive suggestions to make the most of exploring sights and restaurants. Veronique, thank you for guiding us to the amazing fish, vegetable and meat market buildings.

We stayed at the Farmhouse for nine nights in Room 4 (well worth the extra cost because of the two balconies and the sense of space). The breakfasts were a work of art and different every day. Dinner is served twice a week and gives you a chance to chat to other guests although eating outside in the evening at this time of year needs several layers of clothing. The owners have gone to great lengths to provide a feeling of calm throughout the Farmhouse and the whole renovation project has been carried out with skill and attention to detail. The pool is 12 metres making it long enough to swim properly but is not heated so you need to keep moving! As the Farmhouse is in the Portuguese hinterland, a car is essential but it is only 25 minutes to the airport and Faro beach or 35 minutes to Tavira. We also travelled further inland into the mountainous area to the north. There are plenty of restaurants within a 10 km radius and we particularly liked the town of Sao Bras which is less than 10 minutes drive. Frank & Veronique were perfect hosts and a mine of information on all things Portuguese. It was one of those holidays that you know will stay long in the memory for all the right reasons.

Just returned from a week at the Farmhouse and words can not describe how perfect the B&B is. The B&B is a little off the beaten path but so worth it. About 30-40 minutes from Tavira and beaches. The property is beautiful with every detail thought of. Rooms are big, airy, fresh, and perfectly minimalistic. Breakfast served on the terrace was outstanding and so beautifully presented to the point you don’t want to disturb it by eating haha. They also have dinner I think 4 times a week which was great as well. We were very lucky and they had a Fado singer one of the nights we were there which was so nice. The property is quiet and very relaxing. There is a honesty bar in the main house. The owners and the women that work there could not be nicer!! There is not one thing I would change about the B&B. Can’t wait to return!!!

Deze bed&breakfast is gesitueerd in een gebouw dat met veel liefde en goede smaak en oog voor detail is gerestaureerd tot een perfecte verblijfplaats om ultiem te relaxen. Eromheen een al even prachtige tuin met daarin verspreid mooie en comfortabele zit- en ligplekken. Frank en Veronique zijn bijzonder aardige en perfecte hosts en al het personeel is vriendelijk en attent. Iedere ochtend wordt een verrassend ontbijt geserveerd en een aantal keer per week een heerlijk driegangenmenu. Er is veel informatie beschikbaar over de omgeving. Zeker een plek om naar terug te keren!

Wat een waanzinnige plek om te verblijven. Een waar paradijs in de Algarve. Een plek waar ik hoop vaak terug te komen! Alles is tot in perfectie geregeld en verzorgd. Een geweldig vers ontbijt wordt elke ochtend in tuin geserveerd. Alles is subliem!
