how can someone distinguish an accommodation in one of the most popular destinations of the world, offering numerous choices at any possible price? tough question even for the most experienced traveler. Having said that, I can now tell that the owners of Opalia Suites have nailed the answer. They have built - just 18 months ago - a small size - only 6 spacious suites available - boutique hotel in the Southern side of Santorini that allows you to enjoy the full experience of Santorini vacations. When time comes to depart from the unique island you feel complete but also have an edge to come back sooner or later. We spent 7 nights at this hotel, myself, my wife, our teenage daughter and our younger son. All the suites are quite spacious and designed brilliantly in such a way that spending time there for 7 days does not allow for any space discomfort. We were able to enjoy all our variable activities without feeling at all limited by space. The big terrace with the swimming pool is a huge asset for this. All facilities outside the room are also greatly designed and manufactured, providing both high sense of privacy but also easy access to whatever might be needed during the day or night. To give you an example, the hotel has a small Gym at the ground floor -it is probably the most well designed and beautiful gym I have ever seen in a hotel; although someone may think why does anyone would need an inhouse gym at a destination like Santorini, when you pass from the gym 3 or 4 times, you cannot escape the temptation to visit it, at least for once, even if you are not the gym type of person. The location of the hotel, although not in the main Volcano area, is also marvelous. Just 30 meters away of the great black sand beach of Perissa, every time you walk away from the hotel, you cannot gasp at the images your eyes capture. The hotel is surrounding with any shop you might need during your stay and all the sightseeing of Santorini are easily approached by car. The daily breakfast of this hotel is also exceptional - I could easily write a separate review just for that, but I will restrain myself so that I do not spoil the surprise. I will only say that the breakfast of Opalia should be a benchmark for all hotels of this type. As we were approaching at the end of our weekly vacations and all the members of the family were extremely happy with our stay – for those that you are much younger, trust me this is not easy when children start to have an opinion of their own – I was trying to comprehend how things are running so perfectly smooth at this hotel, the answers appeared to me as I had the chance to meet the lovely landlady and driving force of this family business - every detail of this accommodation facility have been implemented by her in a way that achieves old fashioned hospitality packaged with modern effortless luxury. All starts with a warm welcoming by the hotels personnel that makes you feel like home. Beautiful outside and even better inside based on the traditional Greek island architecture. Light full, big space and well airy room. Brand new building and very clean. Offers the opportunity of an easy escape to Santorinis sight seeing or a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere near the sea, if you need to stay and calm at the rooms jacuzzi, swimming pool (depends on your booking) or at the hotels gym. As for the breakfast, there is a great selection of various tastes that is served at your room based on a given list delivered to you at your check in. I now know where to stay if I have the opportunity to travel to Santorini island again!!!

Opalia Suites I stayed at Opalia Suites June 2023 with my partner and daughter. They truly made our stay wonderful. Above and beyond. Prior to booking Opalia Suites I had looked at many hotels but this suite ticked all our boxes. Still the luxury we liked but also comfortable and convenient for our toddler with having our own pool, seating area and they supplied the cutest cot with beautiful bedding. The hotel arranged our transfer from the airport and on arrival we had a warm welcome and lots of fuss made of our daughter. We were helped to our ground floor room and everything we needed explained and lots of recommendations for places to eat and visit. Breakfast was beautiful and lots of choice which was welcomed with a fussy toddler. Breakfast was delivered to our room so no rushing to get ready and down to a busy canteen. There were lots of time slots to choose too. Our rooms were cleaned and towels replaced on request. The pool and patio area was cleaned daily. I also used the gym, this area was modern and air conditioned. The Nespresso coffee machine was an added bonus. There was a little kitchenette area too so we could clean a few dishes and a fridge. Hairdryer was supplied and clean luxury towels, bathroom area was modern and easy with a toddler. Wardrobe space was ample. We loved our stay and my daughter was made such a fuss off it was lovely. Nothing was a burden. The staff there really made our stay extra special.

We staying at Opalia Suites only for a very short brief of time as we had booked a room only 1 night (transit flight) and the flight has got massively delayed making our short staying even shorter… We arrived at the Suites at 3am and after sometime we managed to get into our suite. It felt great walking in the room right away as everything was perfectly cleaned with high quality bedding and towels so with all other room details. The room was spacious with attention to details and Sandro explained everything and took care of the breakfast order to be delivered in our room after our sleep. So at 9:30 am we had our breakfast and kindly asked him about extending the check-out time (if possible) so we could have a rest and perhaps have a brief time to use the pool or the hotel facilities. He was booked out and needed the room to be prepared for the next guests but he went above & beyond offering a guest room (free of charge) so we could accommodate our belongings and ourselves until middle afternoon and use again if necessary showers, gym and rest over there until our then. The property itself is great! Awesome cost benefit as the room is spacious, clean, quality beddings and great attention to details. Breakfast is delicious with large variety of choices delivered at the chosen time to your room. The location is perfect just a few steps to the beach and other streets with restaurants, grocery shops, rentals, etc all at short walking distance… Sandro is very attentive, polite and extremely helpful ! Make sure to book a few nights to be able to take the most of it. We definitely recommend it and will be back next summer! A perfect staying holiday property and location.

Opalia suites is an amazing place to be !!!!!!!! Comfort and Boho style decoration creates a relaxed atmosphere !! Just a few steps from the sea, the sound of the waves caress your ears.... We will visit again !!!

I was priviledged to enjoy Opalia Suites in October. Without doubt, my favorite place to stay in Santorini! Strategically located within one min walk from breathtaking perissa beach, opalia suites combine comfort, tranquillity and high accomodation standards. The elegant decoration blends harmonically with the local style and colors. It was an indulging Santorini experience!
