Rivari Santorini Hotel

Great location on the east of Santorini, close to local restaurants, supermarkets & the beach. The Rivari is a family-friendly hotel, set in lovely bougainvillea. It has a good-sized pool and all of the rooms are air-conditioned with ensure shower rooms and a television. Special shout out to Dina on reception. Warm-hearted, helpful and welcoming, Dina gave us great advice on things to see & do during our stay. Spiros, at the pool bar, is also very welcoming, a real gem.

Lovely hotel , extremely friendly staff , star without doubt is Spiros who looks after the pool bar , what an absolute gent. Pool quiet and perfect size , rooms big enough for family of 4 , aircon slightly noisy. Would absolutely stay here again

Great little hotel, really enjoyed our stay. The staff were so friendly, I wasn't a fan of the breakfast to be honest but that's the only thing I wasn't happy about. Spiros at the pool bar is an absolute diamond, really friendly, helpful guy who goes the extra yard for his customers. If I ever go back to Santorini I'd have no hesitation what so ever in booking this hotel again. Yamas.

Very nice and cosy hotel, we were quite happy that we chose it for our stay in Santorini. Everything was excellent – our room, the breakfast, the garden with all the flowers, palm trees and wonderful bougainvillea everywhere... And as I said bougainvillea, we had one on our balcony and we had wonderful experience with it. We were sleeping on an open door to have some fresh air, so on the morning we woke up in a room, covered by flowers (brought inside by the wind). It was a thing you never forget. The staff was also very nice. We had a special request for the beds in our room, which was fulfilled and and that made our stay even better. You have to walk a little for the beach, but it's not too far. The bus stop is a little bit closer and when you ask on the reception for the direction, they give you their visit card with a small map of Kamari on it and they write to you your way on it, so no way you can get lost. :)

Nice clean hotel with a good size pool and jacuzzi. There are enough sun beds to accommodate everyone but sometimes the music could be lowered. We had a lovely spacious room overlooking the pool which had everything that you could want. Unfortunately the beds were extremely hard and very uncomfortable and the air con was outdated and loud. All other guests that I spoke to had exactly the same issues, so a bit disappointing. The poolside bar has a range of basic light snacks, bottles of beer and soft drinks. However, possibly based on price, most people purchased externally and then sat on their own balcony whilst still overlooking the pool or gardens, so not as well used as the owners would have liked. Breakfast is excellent with a range of English and continental choices although a selection of fruit would have been welcome, but this certainly did not detract from it. Location is good with a 5 to 10 min flat walk to the centre and beach making it an ideal base. Overall a nice hotel that needs some attention.

Just to start this off im not someone who moans or pick holes in everything, I don’t do reviews normally, but this hotel is worthy of one as I want people to see our experience and reconsider booking this hotel. The location: This hotel is located on a road with no pavement or street lighting, on our way from the airport the taxi man was telling us a 16 year old died the other week on the road as cars at night can’t see people coming - to top it off he nearly ran someone over - they aren’t the best of drivers out there! Anyway with our 1 year old baby, this was far from ideal when walking back from the strip at night! We would have to walk very quickly with our phone lights shining. Room: The room initially was quite nice, however ... the bathroom smelt of dirty drains the whole time and the air con is not easy to use ! It’s quite témpleme tal and when it does work, it takes a very long time to actually cool the room down, our baby was absolutely sweating . Also we were given a kettle to warm up the baby’s food (this is not provided) anyway, what a health and safety hazard, the kettle handle gets so hot that it burnt my hand !! I had to use a towel whenever I picked it up - I complained and they didn’t really care just gave me a new one - which was exactly the same . The pool: I’d like to say the pool was the only positive thing - our 1 year old LOVED it as it has a shallow bit where she could run around chasing her ball, loved the cool bubble pool and the sprinklers, also the pool man gave us a baby float. HOWEVER, the water turned everything GREEN! All of our swimming bits are ruined god knows what they put in the water but it’s a shame and a slight concern. We ordered spaghetti one day and there was a small black hair in it! Very odd putting but I gave up complaining. The breakfast: All I can say is ... it is Minimal ! The staff: Wow what can I say about the staff, they are the least accommodating , least friendly and the rudest people I think I have ever met. Not one smile from any of them, we felt so unwelcome there and on the last day before we had to get a flight our baby was really sick, about half an hr before we had to leave for the airport she was sick all over my partner covering them both- they stank! We asked the staff to use a shower very quickly and the answer was no!!?? Well I then lost my head, they were quite happy to let us go to the airport covered in sick and to be honest this is DISGUSTING HOSPITALITY . If I could rate this hotel a zero I would. I tried complaining - this got me no where . I will be taking this further as is absolutely NOT worth the money. Please please reconsider before you come here, there are much nicer hotels.
