Vedema, a Luxury Collection Resort, Santorini

No views, remote location, lots of stairs, poor ac and it’s very hot in June, gaps in doors and windows for ac to escape, poor internet connection, food was ok but took over 45 mins to get it because 1 oven broke, forgot our drinks, 30 euros one way to get to bigger villages. Do NOT stay here. It’s not “Luxury” and Marriott should be ashamed.

I’ll start with the good stuff. The staff are amazing and the service from them was outstanding. Both pools are well maintained and a reasonable temperature. Every drink was delicious and the ingredients in the food were fresh. They looked after my daughter very well and when I got sun burnt they got me some after sun flamigel. The wine list and cocktail list are good. Now for the bad stuff. The room (technically a suite and not cheap). We got given room 204 (the key was marked as T4). It was the furthest from the reception. Don’t expect a good sleep if you stay in this suite as there is a road that runs in front of the room and you will get woken by vehicles. There is a car park about 15/20 metres to one side of the room and a building site in the opposite direction and although no work was being done during our stay it didn’t make for a beautiful view. To get to the reception from our room it was quicker to walk outside the hotel and down the hill than to walk through the hotel. Inside the room, the air conditioning makes a lot of noise. The toilet seat was broken. The wooden blinds let the morning light in (which shined directly in my eyes). The rooms are not big. We ate at Trataro, Alati and Pergola Pool Restaurant. The best being the breakfast at Pergola Pool Restaurant as it came hot, quickly and was a good quality. I was not a fan of the food at Alati although it was creative. The food took a long time at Trataro and when served was not hot and I ordered the seafood pasta which came with bits of broken shell in so left most of it. The value for money at Alati and Trataro are not good so if you are thinking of eating I suggest heading out of the hotel to any of the local restaurants as the prices are far less. We asked the hotel to organise horse riding and it seems the day staff and the night staff don’t communicate as this was ignored by the day staff and only when I came back to see the original lady I asked did it get organised but because it had been ignored there was no availability for the local (nearest) place and I had to use a different company which cost an additional 50 euros (the cost of the taxi to and from). The taxi would only take cash which created an additional problem of finding cash (I would have expected the hotel to have paid this bill as they didn’t do as requested originally).

Just got back from an eight-day stay at this superior hotel. If you are looking for quiet elegance, discreet,courteous and professional staff, this is the place for you. The people here go way beyond the call to make you feel comfortable and pampered. Everyone from reception, to the wait staff, housekeeping and maintenance crew were unbelievably gracious. Set in the middle of a small, quaint village full of charm and romance, two things are recommended for sure: a sunset catamaran cruise (the famous sunset will take your breath away and also, if you can, get an upgrade to a villa. The private pool along with the amenities and fantastic service are well worth it. Opa!

However, the true star of the Vedema Hotel is its staff. Every member of the team is amazing—friendly, courteous, and genuinely dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. Their warmth and attentiveness create a welcoming environment that enhances the entire experience. Special recognition must be given to the manager, who clearly runs a tight ship. The hotel operates seamlessly, and the high standard of service is a testament to their excellent leadership. In summary, the Vedema Hotel offers a perfect blend of luxury, tradition, and outstanding service. Whether you're lounging by your private pool or exploring the beautifully maintained grounds, you're sure to feel pampered and well cared for. This hotel is a true gem, and we can’t recommend it highly enough.

I must say this establishment has been outstanding since the day we arrived. Both Christina and Anastasia went above and beyond with their big smiles in making our stay as comfortable as possible. They even had our suitcases transferred here to Vedema from their sister hotel Mystique. The accommodations were super , clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast by the pool every morning greeted by Michael and many more amazing people like him. There are 2 main pools and a large jacuzzi area with exquisite foliage all around. The sea and Mountain View’s all around are simply breathtaking. Both ladies gave us insight to restaurants and tours in the area and offered to set it up for us along with any transportation we needed. Our island hopping trip was memorable because of this place and the wonderful people who work here. PS This hotel converted from a winery and is like heaven for wine lovers like us.

Truly a wonderful resort! The staff are amazing and the concierge went above and beyond giving us the best recommendations for dinner reservations (even took the time to make them for us), travel arrangements, and showed us all around the resort. They are all incredibly attentive and kind. The service is top notch. The rooms are beautiful and well equipped. The breakfast was delicious. Even the fitness center was great. It’s a good place to stay if you’re traveling with a family and you’ll have plenty of room and privacy. The views are breathtaking. We hope to visit again! There are local shops you can walk to and the family bakery down the street is so good! Beautiful resort and fantastic people.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, and the experience was wonderful. The check-in process was quick and efficient, setting a positive tone from the beginning. The suite we were allocated was spacious and clean, providing a comfortable place to unwind. The breakfast from the menu was truly exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious options. Service across all areas was flawless, and I must mention the bellboy service, which was very efficient and took care of all our needs. Thank you for the lovely hospitality; we would be happy to visit again!

My visit to your beautiful village of Megalochori and your hotel will be remembered for a long time. The hotel is built with the village theme in mind, making it absolutely stunning and picture-perfect. The rooms are spacious, and we stayed in a 2-bedroom villa with a swimming pool. The breakfast was amazing and delicious. The service extended to us by Mr. Konstantinos Chatzikonstantinou and his team is something I will remember for a long time. A must-visit and a great experience staying at The Vedema Santorini.
