On Thursday, the 10th of July,my wife and I flew to Santorini and couldn't wait to check into our chosen apartments,Meltemi Suites. On arrival from the 40ish minutes from the airport ,we were dropped outside Meltemi Village and were left looking around to see what happens next. Seconds later, Yanna appeared and kindly gave us easy direction to the apartments. We made the 100m walk to the apartments and entered the reception. In reception, we were courteously welcomed by Panos. He checked us in easily and quickly and then offered to assist with our heavy cases. A perfect start. Our room, room 13, was lovely. A 4x poster bed, plenty of space, all perfectly clean. The A/C was a cool welcome out of the heat. After we unpacked, we called out to the nearest shop for some water and other bits before returning to explore further. Yanna had arrived on our return, and that is where our relationship with Yanna and Panos began The first morning for breakfast was lovely. There is plenty of selection from fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt with multiple toppings. Cereal, omelette, bacon, eggs fried or scrambled, beans. Little pastries add to the selection. There was plenty of fruit juice, tea,and coffee, which was a nice start to the day. There was never a shortage of food from 08:00 to 10:00 when it finishes. Yanna and Panos were always there to chat or simply say good morning. Towels are available from Panos and Yanna for the sunbeds if required, but I always pack our own, so we didn't need them. The pool was a delight. It's very nice for cooling out of the hot sun. There are plenty of sunlounges to go around for everyone. The upper apartment 13 had a plunge pool that was refreshing, too. Used every day for relaxing after either day of lounging or a day of exploring. A few days later, I asked Panos if there was an umbrella we could use on our terrace as my wife suffers in the heat. He thought for a few seconds and came up with a plan! I followed him to the basement, and he found a little umbrella, the type you fit in a hole in the middle of a garden table. He came upstairs with some fasteners and attached it to the fence. Perfect, what a star. On Monday 14th my wife and I decided to visit the Archaeological site at Akrotiri. We spoke to Yanna for some advice, and the information she gave us couldn't have been easier, brilliant. Sadly, the day before we flew home, my wife caught a bug, and I needed advice. I spoke to Yanna, and she called us a doctor to check my wife out. That is what I call a service that is above and beyond, and we're both very grateful for her assistance. I could give lots more praise but I'm going to now simply say that Yanna and Panos are the heart and soul of Meltemi Suites, the kindest most helpful people you could ask for, and we can't wait to go back.
