Kastro Mansion

We stayed in the calypso suite for 5 nights and the accommodation was perfect! So many lovely restaurants in the village and breakfast included at Penelope’s was really good! Thank you very much to Irene, Vivian and Tony - thank you for being such great hosts! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning one day as we are already missing the amazing sunsets!

Life changing experience! We stayed at the Calypso Premium Suite,which was absolutely heavenly!The suite was very spacious and clean and it also came with daily maid service.Also the aesthetics of the room and the view was to die for(we took like a million photos).The staff was very friendly too and always more than willing to recommend us all the must-see places of the island.I’m glad I picked kastro mansion for my very first visit to Santorini and I will be coming back next Summer, for sure.

Great location in the heart of Pyrgos village. We really loved the character of the spacious suite, elegant, spotlessly clean and a nice homely feel. Walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops with lovely sunset views Breakfast was delicious and a great start to our day. From the moment we arrived, the host went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, was super friendly and welcoming and gave us great recommendations for activities. Thank you so much for an amazing stay!!!

The room location is great. Couple of restaurants very close at the top of the hill and great little streets to wander. Also neat and tidy and well laid out. However, the property manager and the host like to play loose with the truth when asked about amenities listed on the travel sites, and are disingenuous about what there actually is on offer at the property. This is NOT a hotel - it is 3 ‘AirBNB’ apartments - and very few of the ‘facilities’ are on-site - the host and property manager simply tell you where on Santorini you can get things done. (“Oh, you thought the hotel had a spa? No, but there are facilities nearby you can use”) Amenities including: Spa: Facial treatments, waxing services, makeup services etc Or Dry Cleaning, Manicure, Body Treatments, Laundry, Canoeing, Room Service Or Fishing, Canoeing, Hiking, Diving, Horseback Riding are indeed available on SANTORINI - but NOT amenities of the apartment. “Oh, no, these are not at the property, but we can organise any of these features if you would like” Also, questions answered by the hotel say: There is a sunset view from the Premium Room. There is most definitely not. None of the photos of the sunset are from the Premium Room. The photo from the Premium Room is a carefully crafted photo showing a tiny bit of sea in the distance (south facing and not west for the sunset)through the courtyard entry door - which when closed (all the time one is in the property) has zero view at all. A Private Beach 7km away is mentioned as available to guests. This “Private Beach” is not Private with a capital P - it is a PUBLIC beach - it simply is secluded and some privacy (with a little p) can be found. We asked for laundry and we’re pointed to a laundromat in Kamari. Again, the room and location is very nice. But the way it is pitched is not genuine.

Accueil excellent, appartement très propre et personnel au petit soin et très réactif! Maison typique traditionnelle. On vous répond dans la minute quoi qu'il y ait. Emplacement exceptionnel et central. La ville de Pyrgos est très agréable.Nous avons beaucoup profité du Jacuzzi. Le petit déjeuner est proposé dans un restaurant partenaire, il est hyper complet et très copieux, il y a de quoi faire un vrai repas. Adresse à recommander sans aucune hésitation!!! Apres un très bon accueil par Irene, nous avons découvert notre chambre "suite supérieure" ( Hermes ) . Nous savions que c'était une chambre Troglodyte mais on nous avait promis une belle terrasse et à notre arrive quelle déception ... La terrasse se limite a une toute petite cour intérieure enterrée sans soleil, ou l'on croise les femmes de ménage qui y ont leur 2 locaux de rangement!!! En entrant dans la chambre nous avons découvert 2 déshumidificateurs qui tournaient à fond, les deux climatiseurs et les 3 WMC aussi entrainant un bruit infernal. Irene nous indique que nous pouvions tout couper la nuit pour avoir moins de bruit. Apres quelques minutes dans la chambre nous avons fait revenir Irene pour lui montrer certaines choses qui ne nous convenaient pas. ( sol et meubles de cuisine moisis, pas de possibilité d'aération ...) La seule ouverture lumineuse est la fenêtre ( qui ne s'ouvre pas ) de la porte.Pour avoir de l'air extérieur Irene nous conseille de laisser la porte ouverte !!! Irene nous promet un changement de chambre suivant les disponibilités. Apres 2 jours ne voyant rien venir, nous avons prévenu notre voyagiste ( Very Chic ) qui a relancé. Malgré les promesses de changement de chambre nous sommes restés dans notre " trou humide" pendant les 7 nuits . Heureusement des amis avaient une chambre avec une belle terrasse et de belles ouvertures sur l'extérieur ce qui fait que nous utilisions notre " suite supérieure " uniquement pour dormir ( Apres avoir mis tourner tous les "assecheurs" à fond toute le journée). Le ménage en dehors du lit et de la SDB est inexistant ( voir les crottes de poussières a l'arrière des assecheurs ) Vu la quantité d'eau récupéré nous devions nous même procéder au vidage des réservoirs, pour les filtres personne n'est venu s'en occuper. Cette chambre ( Suite supérieure Hermes ) est absolument à fuir. Nous sommes en train de voir avec notre voyagiste comment éviter à d'autres voyageurs une telle déconvenue et quelle compensation nous pouvons obtenir.
