We started to stay in Paradores over 15 years ago. I can see the decline in services and attention to basic maintenance. But what irritate me the most is the lack of “ramps” for movilizó impaired customers and even for those heavy wheeled travel bags. Still the staff is very attentive. The common areas are very clean.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which is housed in a beautifully preserved 17th-century building. The attention to detail in maintaining the historic charm is evident, with tasteful decor and stunning old furniture pieces that add to the ambiance. Despite being located in the heart of town, in an area with restricted car access, the hotel offers the convenience of its own parking space. We were lucky to stay in room 205, which was not only incredibly spacious but also had its own private veranda. The outdoor space was beautifully furnished with a table for four and two sunbeds, perfect for relaxing. One evening, we decided to order room service and enjoyed a delicious spread of local cheeses and embutidos, all paired with a chilled bottle of rosé wine. It was a perfect way to unwind and savor the ambiance of this charming hotel.

Perfect location! Very comfortable rooms with beautiful views. The picture do not do it justice, we love Santillana Del Mar, and will definitely stay at this hotel again in the future. You drive right into the old town up to the door. Staff and service were great, breakfast and dinner were very good. I cannot say enough about the location of the hotel and the authenticity of staying in a historic location and building. Highly recommend. Take a horseback ride while there! It was AWESOME!

Great position, car park was difficult to find at first. Evening meal was better than expected. Rooms very spacious.

The location of the Parador could not be better, as it is on the main square of the village, and everything is within walking distance. It is very nice to have lunch in front of the entrance, enjoying the Spanish sun and the view.

We stayed here for the location as it was our wedding anniversary. Biggest disappointment was the level of service for breakfast - the worst we have had at a Parador. Definitely not value for money for us.

Disappointed at the attitude of the chef. He served me a burger that was cooked on the outside but raw on the inside. I wasn’t sure at first if this was simply a “rare” burger, despite not being asked how I wanted it cooked. Ate around it , left the rest. Tested the waiter and he confirmed from the kitchen that what I left was undercooked. But because I didn’t complain they insisted I pay full price. So, the lesson here is that the chef is capable of serving undercooked food but quality control is up to you. We won’t be going back, nor will we stay at this particular Paradores on principle. Good luck

This parador, we can recommend to every one. Be careful to go for a drink on the terrace in front of the parador, ypu will have to wait minimum 15 minutes before you can order and another 15 minutes to be served. Also expected rude and unfriendly service. That is really not acceptable. The other staff is fantastic.

The town is a beautiful olde worlde place, entirely cobbled and pretty. The hotel has an excellent feel, very professional but friendly staff, charming old rooms and decoration, excellent restaurant. It was a privilege to stay there.
