Camping de Santenay

This is a potentially a very good site. The location is excellent for walking, and particularly good for cycling. The site is in a beautiful location, near a pleasant small town. The sanitary facilities are dated. The showers are adequate, but need regular pressure washiing. The toilets are dated and need repairs. The men's urinals were leaking on to the floor from their drains, and had been taped off rather than being repaired. The toilet areas also need pressure washing. The drains from the clothes washing area were leaking. The sinks for washing pots and pans are very poor, with hardly any hot water, need scrubbing clean and need new water taps at some of the sinks. The waste water dumping for camping cars is very inconvenient, with reversing for a distance being necessary. There are no water taps on the large field area and more electricity points are needed. There is general dilapidation over the site which needs the constant attention of the staff, but this does not appear to happen. There are too few maintenance staff available to keep a site of this size in good order.

30 minute argument about fees and what balance was due / not due as appears to be poor communication between pitch up and the campsite?! The campsite is great with great location, well looked after.

The site is well situated, but is very poorly maintained. Electrical supply points are on rotting posts and look dangerous. Washing up facilities and worn and poorly maintained. Hot water is only slightly warm. There are too few staff to manage a site like this properly. Many other sites charge the same for much better facilities.
