Blau Arenal Habana Beach

The hotel is highly recommended. On the first night we arrived very late, they opened the cafeteria .and prepared a meal for us. The room is large, closet, safety box, tv, fridge, sofa, king-size bed, extra pillows already available and smells very fresh. The shower and toilet were very clean with readily available fresh towels. Housekeeping did an excellent job in keeping our room clean. The premises both inside and outside the hotel is clean and well maintained. The public washroom for the guest were clean. They have a large swimming pool with lifeguard. The access to the beach is kept clean and safe. The staff are very courteous, professional, friendly and always willing to help. They speak good English and can easily understand the need of guest. The bar, kitchen and reception and rest of staff who work behind the scene were amazing Thank you to Yoames, Evelyn, Daniel, Yoel, Jenny. Doing this review is my own little way in saying thank you together with wife. My experience in Cuba is fun and enjoyable.

Great hotel. Nice rooms with king size beds. Great food and the staff very friendly and helpful. Felt great staying here. Miguel the director is working hard to make you feel like at home. Gracias Sr. Rosales. The location is fantastic. The beach is amazing.

This hotel is an amazing place to stay in Havana and near to the Old Havana. It’s very close to the beach and the staff is wonderful. Its manager Miguel is a very helpful and approachable person who works hard to manage the happiness of staff and also all the guests. I strongly recommend this hotel to all my friends in spite of how challenging could be with the shortage of food in the country, everyone had a great time. I would recommend the recreation staff to promote more the beautiful traditional and updated Cuban music to make us feel part of the country’s culture and identity.

First time to Blau Arenal Havana. The hotel in general is good the beach is amazing too. Room very clean and new with all facilities you may need Safe tv fridge Ac ….. food is acceptable, the swimming pool clean Big advantage if you r planing to visit Havana city centre a bus will come at 10:30 am to pick u for 10$ us or 15$ CAD till 5 pm Staff are friendly and walking on the beach was very nice

The resort and rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. The beach was nice. There was some good food at the buffet but there were some not so favorable items. They had some meats that just didn't taste very good. Meatballs and what appeared to be hamburger or sausage patties looked good but tasted bad. The soup's were good. They always had a couple kinds of rice and beans. Consistently had jello, pudding, and ice cream at the dinner desert part of buffet. Made to order omwlletes/eggs at breakfast. Was in Cuba for 2 weeks and was surprised at how many toilets I saw with no toilet seats and sometimes no toilet paper. The mens bathroom off the lobby had 3 toilets and only 1 had a toilet seat.

We were supposed to spend 2 weeks for the Christmas holidays but after 2 days, we decided to advance our return trip home as we couldn't stand it anymore. That's how bad it is. We had asked to be on the first floor because my husband and I cannot do stairs. The air conditioning leaked during the night and we woke up to a huge puddle. We then switched rooms after waiting several hours in the lobby. The furniture in the room looked like they were falling apart.The next morning we wanted to take a shower but there was no hot water. We then notified the cleaning lady and the hotel receptionist of the situation. The receptionist contacted the person in charge of quality control. What a farce!! The third room was no better. If anything, it was worse. At this point, we didn't complain because every time we complained, things got worse. Our last room had twin beds and I woke up with bug bites all over my legs and arms.We were later told by other guests that there is hot water but only between 3 and 5 o'clock p.m. As for the food, not much choice and always the same thing. We were served cold coffee for breakfast. I was also served a coffee with a lot of coffee grounds. I showed it to the waitress and she just looked at me and shrugged her shoulders as if to say so what. The hotel is situated very far from Havana. It costs at least $35 USD to go there by taxi. As for the beach, we went once and picked up glass shards in the sand.
