Unacceptable and Humiliating Experience — Deeply Disappointed I stayed at Hotel Món Sant Benet to attend a friend’s wedding nearby. The hotel was recommended by the couple to their guests. On the night of April 29th, 2025, after returning from the wedding party, I went to the front desk to ask for some drinking water, since there was none in the minibar and we needed to hydrate — especially after drinking during the event. To my shock, the receptionist refused to provide any water, claiming that the bar was already closed. I calmly explained that I was with my wife and two young daughters (ages 3 and 4), and that we simply needed some water before going to bed. Still, he refused. When I insisted — firmly but respectfully — the receptionist called the police on me. Yes, you read that right: a guest asking for water at night ended up having his passport taken by the police at the hotel reception. Only after this humiliating situation, they finally agreed to give me a few bottles of water. The receptionist also refused to give me his name, even after repeated requests, which makes me feel extremely unsafe about staying at this hotel with my family. We are still staying here until May 1st, but I must say I have never been treated with such disrespect, coldness, and complete lack of empathy at any hotel in my life. This is not just poor service — it’s gross mismanagement and a total lack of common sense or human decency. A simple request for water escalated into police involvement, which is nothing short of outrageous. I sincerely hope the hotel owners and managers take this matter seriously. This review serves as a warning to future guests who expect basic courtesy, safety, and respect.

We arrived here after completing the Camino Ignaciano. We mainly chose this hotel because they agreed to store our rental e-bikes until the rental company shipper could pick them up. The hotel is in beautiful grounds and the room was spacious and modern. The restaurant was good for dinner and breakfast. Overall though we paid way more for food and stay here than we did anywhere else besides the hotel room in the heart of Barcelona.

The experience which sticks most in our memories is nearly losing our passports; they fell out of a pocket, while we were leaving. Luckily the lady who checked us out spotted this and brought these to our car. That stands for all our contacts with Hotel Mon's staff; alert, helpful, efficient and friendly. Also fluent English speakers. The gin and tonics we enjoyed in the superbly designed lounge overlooking the monastery are the next most memorable items: never have we seen such large/heavy goblets, containing about twice the normal contents. Only one of those necessary before dinner. Both dinner and breakfast were very good: for breakfast, full marks for frying eggs to order, and providing freshly squeezed orange juice and Cava. The standards are very high in this hotel, as shown by the care and attention, and training of the staff. Just a couple of niggles; the restaurant was not open at lunchtime, and we couldn't get a twin room with an easy to access shower; we were offered such a room, but it was fully equipped for mobility impaired guests, which we didn't need/want. The shower in the bath was what we got instead. In praise of the room, it was modern, spacious and comfortable: plenty of wardrobe space.

This is a modern building in the beautiful setting of an old monastery . The hotel is fab in almost every way but needs a few tweaks to give it top marks. The staffing at the bar were so few and so slow that there were soon long queues as the hotel was full and took at least half an hour to get a drink. At the pool it indicates there was pool service but you had to go to bar for a drink which was quite a trek. The rooms were beautifully designed with quirky features but could have done with a few more extras such as more hangers, tissues, hair conditioner and shower cap. I know this sounds petty but just makes life a little easier. Also due to long queues at bar, a coffee/tea making machine in the room would be good . Apart from this, the place was excellent and would definitely recommend and go back.

had a really nice stay, rooms are spacious and clean, had a maid visit every day to tidy up - we stayed half board but i heard the food was on the pricey side, as are the drinks. hotel were pretty strict about drinking by the pool, which is strange as they offered a pool/drinks service. had a really nice time though - only downside is its pretty far from a supermarket. a good 20 minute walk.
