I have just returned from a four-night stay with a coach holiday company. There were three coach groups at the hotel during my stay. Overall, I think that I got value for my money. The bed was very comfortable, although I found the duvet too hot for July, and there was no drawsheet, so it was duvet or completely uncovered. The number of electrical sockets is not sufficient for the modern gadget-ridden traveller. Take a multi-plug adapter with you to solve this little problem. The room was hot with no air-con. The sea view was great. I especially liked going to sleep listening to the sea. Sound does travel easily from room to room, so bear in mind that you may be entertaining your neighbours! The bathroom was dated but very clean. The towels were soft, and the hot water was really hot! Housekeeping was very good, and I am not easy to impress on that score! The hotel is comfortable but dated and quite worn in places, and the lift is insufficient for the number of guests. The restaurant was very, very busy with three coaches in. Yes, it got noisy, but I like a chatty table! The service was prompt and friendly. The queue for breakfast was a little meandering and not helped by the layout of the self-serve area. The food is basic, certainly nothing fancy or memorable, but it was well prepared and enjoyable. Vegetables were not skimped on, which can be awkward when you are dining with others. Who wants to cause a scene fighting over a carrot baton? The step-free access in and out of the hotel is not up to modern standards, and at meal times and excursion times, you will have to wait a fair while for the lift. This is a 3-star hotel catering, mainly, for coach groups, which I imagine generate low profit margins, so with that in mind, I think they offered everything that I expected.
