Excelsior Dolomites Life Resort

A truly magical stay in the stunning dolomites! The facilities and amenities are incredible, our room was a new garden room which was spacious, luxurious and well thought out for a ski holiday. The new luxury spa and gym were great to use after a day on the slopes to unwind and relax. The ski in/out, ski school and ski hire was so easy to sort, this is skiing made easy at the highest level. The food was very good and varied, you had a nice choice of options for dinner along with a good breakfast and lunch. The drinks, in particular the cocktails, were on another level; there are cocktails and there are cocktails! Their signature cocktails are thoughtful and well prepared using their own homemade ingredients, some of which, take 6 months to prepare. What really made this holiday special though was the incredible staff, who were happy, so passionate and so friendly. Literally nothing was too much trouble. Whether it was Simona looking after us in the restaurant or Luka and the bar staff preparing their take on a Mai Tai for us, we were made to feel very special. We have made some very special memories here, some new friends and are now emotionally connected to this wonderful hotel. It is was clear the staff are very happy working here and there were a vast number of repeat guests; some we spoke to, were on their 9th year. The Call family have created a very special place here with a winning formula. Will we be back? We have already reserved our room for next year. The view from the hotel is amazing. You can sit there drinking afternoon tea and have some cakes or join the interesting activities organised by the hotel. You can reach the most famous points all within 1.5 hours. You can also have packed lunch if you cannot come back

This was our fourth visit to the Dolomites region but our first to Kronplatz (San Vigilio). The hotel was wonderful from start to finish. Clean, beautiful, friendly. The food was delicious and the cocktails and drinks lovely too. Beautiful offerings at breakfast, a wide selection of options in the afternoons too. And dinner - sublime. I’m coeliac and my gluten free diet was not a problem at all. I had as much choice as everyone else. The ski locker room was great and to be able to ski in and out was bliss! The spa area was a delight after a hard day of skiing. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for helping to make our trip such a memorable one. In particular, Luka behind the bar and Florin in the restaurant. Thank you. Can’t wait to return.

We had a memorable stay in this very professional and kid-friendly establishment. We thank the service of Simona and all her colleagues in the restaurant (Myriam and all the others), as well as the reception, the tips and tricks of Mr Call every evening and the kindness of the housekeeping staff. The infrastructure is complete and well maintained, the dishes are delicious and the place is magnificent.

The hotel is beautiful, in a spectacular location. Covered parking is great as is the 3/4 food option, you definitely won’t go hungry. As a couple, we were pleased to have an adult pool and spa area. These were very busy at times though so couldn’t actually swim. The food was spectacular at times and at others quite strange, also the same with the staff, some were lovely and smiling, others clearly in the wrong job. We were happy to leave as on the last day there were children running around the dining room everywhere and it was chaotic.

Wow, what a fantastic hotel. The Excelsior has it all, great location, friendly staff, great service, ski-in/out, ski lockers, Spa, infinity pool and fantastic gourmet evening meals. The Call family have created a ski hotel that won’t disappoint. We enjoyed a great week there. The hotel is luxurious and has great attention to detail. Every area is well thought through. The skiing in Kronplatz was great for intermediate level skiers and the snow / pistes are the best we have skied on. The weather for the week was mainly cloudy and often that meant poor visibility, especially at the top of Kronplatz. While the area had little snow, the ability to make snow meant that whilst it concerned us before we arrived it was a complete non issue.
