The Watermark, a Muy'Ono Resort

I had the most wonderful time at Watermark Resort in San Pedro! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with such warmth by Prescilla at the front desk, making me feel right at home. The resort’s food was absolutely fantastic, especially the grilled fish presented in a plantain leaf – it was so flavorful! And their energizing drinks are a perfect refreshment after a day in the sun. The rooftop views are absolutely stunning, offering a breathtaking perspective of the area. The service was unparalleled, and a special shout-out to Kaylin, the cute and friendly bartender, and Geraldo for making our experience even better. I don’t recall the name of the gentleman from India at the front desk, but his service was just as excellent. Overall, my leisure trip was made unforgettable by the incredible service, delicious food, and the stunning setting of this new gem in San Pedro. I highly recommend Watermark Resort for anyone looking to relax and enjoy some top-notch hospitality!

This hotel is being advertised as a new hotel in the heart of Belize. Maybe it is on the "newer" side but we were expecting much more. The overall experience was just "ok" but for what we paid, we should have just stayed at a big name hotel. Not many accommodations at the hotel. This would have been ok but one particular staff was insanely unaccommodating and kind of soured our entire trip. We used our American Express concierge to book this hotel and went with their recommendations, however, when we go to the Hotel, Le'Niah (front desk lady) stated they did not take Amex. Which was insanely alarming because they "took" my American Express to pre pay for the Hotel. But away from my best judgement, we were excited to be in Belize so we let that go (we should have left immediately and forfeit the hotel fees). After the 3rd night, we found out we were deactivated from our hotel room and need to "re register" and pay MORE FEE's. Le'Niah insisted we booked through ******* and our Amex Concierge never called to book for us. I immediately thought fraud, so I called up Amex who assured me they took care of our booking and we should not have to pay additional fees or be deactivated from our room. Not sure if it was just a money grab for her or the hotel is that unorganized but I will be monitoring my credit cards for any unauthorized charges. I'm not sure if she's just rude, doesn't like her job or just needs additional training but very unacceptable and I would not recommend this Hotel. The customer service was at a NEGATIVE ZERO! However, on our last night my husband and I went to the roof top bar to have a drink and we met the most delightful bar tender. I can not remember her name but it starts with a K and she was the breath of fresh air we needed to calm our nerves. We also met the hotel manager and was able to discuss our experience with him. He was kind and listened. Although those two were kind, the one bad apple made a significant impact on our trip and I remained uneasy for the duration. Thus my 2 stars... it was just ok but I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing vacation experience.
