Agriturismo Il Castagnolino

Amazing farmhouse in the middle of beautiful Tuscany. Comes with swimming pool, WiFi and is very comfortable. Do take advantage of the 4 course locally produced meal. Fabulous in all respects and was very inexpensive. Just 5km outside of San Giminano

We were underwhelmed by this place. Little communication with the owner, dinner not available and quite basic breakfast. The only place we stayed at in Tuscany where we were happy to leave. Pool was much smaller than appeared from the photos.

This place is a piece of heaven in the earth. Besides the place is exactly as the pictures, the reality is way much better. The place is surrounded by trees and pines, with n amazing view of San Gimignano. However thats just physical enhancements to the experience. Carmela, the owner made me feel at home. I told to her I was learning and practicing Italian so she did speak just italian to me, show me and corrected me. (Very appreciate). She did recommendations, made phone calls. She was always looking forward on my itinerary to give inputs and suggestions. Besides the great person she is, she produce Olive oil and cook “home made” everything, even the yogurt. Food is amazing!!! Local tuscany flavors! This place was just amazing. The only thing I regret was not to stay longer. 6 days at Toscana is not good enough! Ohh I almost forgot, the breakfast are just amazing. Besides eggs, jams, salamis, cheeses, fruits, tea, coffee, granola, cereal and all that usually you find in breakfast, she did every single day, a different cake. Always so fresh and warm.. mmm, I’m going to miss it. Carmela, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. I love to met people as you and hopefully we will see you again!!!

All good. No Tv in the room though but it was very nice and a great breakfast.

Abbiamo soggiornato presso Il Castagnolino durante le vacanze. È una vera oasi di pace, immersa tra gli ulivi, con una vista panoramica sulle colline che circondano San Gimignano. Il soggiorno è stato particolarmente piacevole grazie alla disponibilità e cortesia della Signora Carmela, che, tra l'altro, prepara ottimi piatti tipici toscani con i prodotti del proprio orto. La piscina offre una pausa rigenerante al termine di una giornata dedicata alla visita delle bellezze artistiche e naturali della zona. Ci torneremo presto! Nicoletta e Paolo

Ingresso bellissimo, signora gentile, vista fantastica, agriturismo semplice ed immerso nella natura. La sera si può cenare li, tutto preparato dalla proprietaria con piatti buonissimi con alcune materie prime che coltiva lei. Camera normale, purtroppo manca il bidet in bagno e la doccia ha la tenda.

Attirati dalle ottime recensioni, non abbiamo esitato a raggiungere questa bellissima location al costo di molte ore di viaggio. La proprietaria aveva completamente dimenticato il nostro arrivo, tanto da confonderci con altri ospiti. La dimenticanza ha incluso la nostra cena, prenotata con 3 settimane di anticipo, che la signora si è offerta comunque di preparare dicendo che avrebbe “rimediato qualcosa”. Francamente non avevamo viaggiato 5 ore per una cena rimediata, e abbiamo optato per un ristorante nei dintorni, senza ricevere alcuna indicazione in merito dalla signora (nemmeno il gesto di dire “provo a darvi una mano, andate qui o qui, faccio una telefonata per controllare la disponibilità”). La mattina successiva abbiamo visto offrire ai nostri vicini di tavolo una porzione aggiuntiva di salumi, mentre noi siamo stati totalmente ignorati. La sensazione è stata quella di essere trattati da clienti di serie B. Peccato. Mai più tante ore di auto per un servizio del genere.

L’accueil était très médiocre, nous avions l’impression de déranger. Propreté très moyenne et état des lieux médiocre Le petit déjeuner était très moyen et manquait grandement de fraicheur et de variété.Manque grandement d’amour et d’entretien. Très déçu de notre première experience dans ce genre d’etablissement.

Solo due giorni questa volta ma abbastanza per confermare la tranquillità e la bellezza di questo agriturismo. La gestione è sempre impeccabile e la cucina davvero ottima, tipica e genuina dalla colazione alla cena. Da non perdere
