Beautiful hotel. By the ocean. Great for boat families. Excellent service and amenities.

We love the Dana! It’s our favorite place to stay when we vacation! We love the kayak rentals. The views from our room are amazing. The staff is so kind and friendly and they’re dog friendly!

We only stayed at The Dana 2 nights however we would stay there again. The room was nice and clean, the grounds with the pools and the docks were nice to walk around and everyone was helpful and friendly.

Great Location 5 min from SeaWorld San Diego, 5 min from Mission Beach by Uber/Lyft. 25 min or less from airport. 22 min from Birch aquarium. Kayak and paddle boat rentals behind hotel and 10 min walk from Mission Bay

As far as location, this was perfect for our Sea World and beach trip. There is a free shuttle to take you to Sea World, which made it convenient. The rooms were nice, but we had ants in the bathroom. If you don’t like hard pillows then I suggest you bring your own. You are charged a daily parking and resort fee, which I wouldn’t have minded had we actually been able to park right in front of our room. Unfortunately when we came, there was a Rolls Royce and Bentley event happening at our hotel where we could not park on our side and had to park our car clear on the opposite side of the hotel, which took 3 trips to bring our bags to the car. No discount on parking for this. It almost felt that they did not value any other guest when it came to this event. We paid the extra money to stay somewhere nicer and overall I felt it wasn’t worth it.

Front desk staff was arguing with guest when we arrived. It made checking in a little awkward. Not blaming the front desk but maybe should have gone about it more privately. Power was out the first night. Wasn’t a huge deal but this could have been communicated better as it was a planned outage and they could have compensated us with a bottle of wine or something beside a mini flashlight. Grounds are beautiful and family friendly. Pool was a blast. We were able to walk to sea world and mission beach with our 7 year old, but if you have younger kids or health issues I wouldn’t recommend walking. If you are a light sleeper this might not be the place for you but wasn’t a huge deal for us, you can hear guests walking by and the parking lot. Rooms were a little small and not the nicest but for the price was perfect for us as we just slept and showered there. Felt safe and would stay here again.

Very nice people at the hotel. Lovely room beautiful view all the way to the mountains. Nice restaurant good drinks.

We thought the property was gorgeous around the resort. There were two pools and hot tubs to choose from and the view was nice being on the water.

It was close to the water. Nice property. Friendly staff. Great place. The electricity went off during the night & I use a CPAP so that was unfortunate. They also started construction on the room next door at 0800, waking us up early when we had had a late night. That was the only hiccup. However, the stay was amazing. I would definitely return to the hotel. They were very helpful and friendly. The things like the construction on the room and the electricity are annoying, but we also understand that they are unavoidable so it was not a deal breaker for returning. It is a wonderful hotel. Would recommend for sure.

Clean place service was great. To many screaming and splashing kids to relax in the pool or on the balcony. This place would be perfect if they made one of their two pools adult only.

The kids loved the lanai room because of the sliding door access to the pool and grass area to run around. Heated pool, perfect for swimming late in cool weather. Beautiful walk along the marina to the on site restaurant. Breakfast is EXPENSIVE for a pretty standard buffet breakfast, 2 adults and 2 small children was around $200. Parking was directly in front of our room which was nice. Overall a nice stay for a family with small children.

Rooms were little outdated but overall a nice place. Pool was nice, restaurant was good and rooms were clean. Lots of hidden fees.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Dana. We love the quiet location on the bay and only a 15 minute walk to Belmont Park for the kids and 15 minutes to downtown San Diego.

You are charged for parking which I think it’s ridiculous !! Walls are thin you can hear neighbors the rest is ok
