We do heat the hot tub for your enjoyment but the pool is in its natural state unheated because it uses an exorbitant amount of propane that we We prioritize minimizing our carbon footprint while allowing guests to fully appreciate the pristine beauty of the desert. While we do heat the hot tub for your enjoyment, we have chosen to keep the pool in its natural state, without heating, due to the excessive propane consumption it would otherwise entail. The hot tub is $50/per use. The reason for this charge is because in this remote areas of Joshua Tree so unlike the city this area is run exclusively on propane which is quite costly. All fuel must be trucked in.PARKING: There is ample parking at this property. CalTrans will have Chain Checks and may not allow entry onto the mountain without them. Traveling past chain check without chains can be VERY dangerous. Most 4x4 vehicles are often allowed up without chains but CHP or CalTrans may ask to carry chains anyways as back-up. I am not responsible for guests not being prepared and turned away due to not having chains.WINTER/SUMMER POWER OUTAGES : Please be aware during inclement weather (snow, wind, rain, freezing ,etc ) there may be power failures for extended periods of time. Travelers through the Forest should remain on designated roads and never park on dry brush or grass. Outdoor wood, charcoal, or campfires of any kind are not permitted. Fireworks are always prohibited in the San Bernardino National Forest. The US Forest Service will be aggressively citing those who do not comply with the posted restrictions. Violation of these prohibitions is subject to punishment by a fine of not more than $10,000 or imprisonment for not more than six months or both, as Class B misdemeanors under federal law.
