Ammos is the Penthouse suite at Meliti Waterfront suites. Its perfectly located overlooking the sea and the Karavomylos Taverna a few minutes’ walk away. It is reached via a flight of stairs (about 25 steps) from a garden entrance. Its probably better than the photos show; excellent cool décor and three bedrooms and two bathroom, one ensuite. The third bedroom had twin beds and is compact. The largest bedroom with two patio doors onto differing balconies does not have the ensuite, this is off the midsize bedroom. The main bathroom is large and also houses the washing machine. The ensuite is very compact and has a small almost vanity size basin. (Note both bathrooms have no basin plugs to retain water!) Our initial welcome was warm and friendly with a quick explanation of the facilities and near by restaurants and places for breakfast. Unlike many places we have stayed, if you wish to cater for yourself sometimes useful items such as condiments, foil, cling film, etc perhaps left by previous guests are not present so come prepared. The whole apartment however is very well equipped, with everything you need to prepare meals, plus two coffee machines (one Nespresso) and kettle. The beds are very comfortable, our bedding was changed once in 7 days, oddly on day 6. Towels were changed after 3 days. One large towel and one hand towel per bedroom. I would stay again as this is a stunning suite and very convenient for travel around the island, most places, Argostoli, Assos, Fiskardo, Poros and Skala all reachable within one hours drive, Agia Efimia in about 30 mins and Sami a 20-30 mins walk or a 10 minute drive. If like us you arrive and have an evening taxi transfer, I recommend you stop at a mini market enroute to buy water and provisions for your first breakfast etc. Don’t forget to pack a couple of plugs for the basins!

This is my third visit to Kefalonia and it won’t be my last. I am relatively well travelled and have holidayed in Greece a number of times. Much of the reason I enjoy visiting the country is down to the climate, the food, the cultural atmosphere, the energy and above all the generosity of the Greek people and its community. This was my first visit to the Meilti Suites. I have stayed in many 5* star/first class accommodation over the years, and this was above all one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had whilst staying in Greece. For the most part, the staff in particular could not do enough to help - Stakis, the Operations Manager and Vasia, Property Co-ordinator went above and beyond on every occasion and offered the best customer service during my stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble and at every given opportunity they would go out of their way to offer their support. My advice to anyone looking to make a booking, is to get in quick, because before you know it, the place will be gone, gone, gone! It really is that good!

Fantastic apartment at Meliti suites. The penthouse (Ammos) apartment is so worth the extra cost. The wide balcony runs along the front and round the side so every room has a sea view. One bedroom with a side view out to Sami has an en-suite. The middle bedroom is double aspect with doors facing to the front and side. The 3rd bedroom is smaller and looks out to sea. Lovely indoor sitting/dining/kitchen area and lots of seating options on the balcony, from where you hear the sea breaking on the pebble beach. Great location between Sami (a few mins drive or 20 min walk, The Cellar is a great restaurant) and the even nicer Agia Effimia (10 mins drive. Walk away from the harbour up to Pergola or along to Sea Rock for dinner) and less than 10 mins walk from Melissani lake. There was a really long queue when we went to the lake (a cruise ship was visiting the island) so we just went back another day. And there’s a lovely bakery/cafe just a couple of mins walk away. The staff were very helpful before we arrived and very pleasant when we were there. Photos are of the view from the balcony.

The suite I stayed in (Levanda) was well laid out, equipped and clean. Room service was discreet and done well to maintain the unit throughout. Cross the road to a quiet pebble beach and with good views to Sami port. The local Taverna was also an easy option for meals. An electrical fault was dealt with promptly.

Excellent location with easy acces to a small beach, close to Sami port/marina. Excellent cleaning services. The suite, Helios, has a fresh and modern design and is fitted with all you need. Nice beaches in the proximity, Agia Effimia, Antisamos...Fully recommend!
