An Unforgettable Culinary Experience at Le Baluchon Our dinner at Le Baluchon was nothing short of exceptional. The restaurant offers a remarkable gastronomic experience that highlights fresh, local ingredients and refined Quebecois flavors. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented — a true farm-to-table delight! What made the evening even more special was the service. Denis “the Menace” was impeccable — friendly, attentive, and full of character. He made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in and added a warm, personal touch to the evening. If you’re looking for a unique dining experience in a serene, eco-conscious setting, this is it. A definite must-return spot. Highly recommended!

This is an outstanding concept and we loved to stay here. It is in the middle of nature and has hiking tracks right on the ground of the village. The room and service were a bit basic, but as we love to stay in nature, this was less relevant for us. The spa is great, sauna and relax chairs with look into the nature. Very service-oriented if problems occure (e.g., coffee machine not working - the technician solved the issue right away). Just the bistro staff seemed to be very stressed and not able to handle a group of guests on the second evening. Food is a bit expensive. We have not used the restaurant, just the bistro. Depending on where you stay there, you have to walk a bit to get to the reception/bistro/restaurant.

MANY positives: The grounds were beautifully maintained, however, even equipped with ambient lighting for night-time walking. The flowing creek was well-viewed from bridge-walking paths. There was a charming, rustic, old-fashioned feel to the place. Staff were very friendly. Food at our supper was gourmet, beautifully presented and delicious. The breakfast buffet for Sunday morning was an excellent variety, quality and freshness. Service was efficient, friendly, bilingual (English-French). The décor was tasteful for Christmas - winter themes. Horse-drawn wagon rides, snowshoeing and other winter activities were possible. A nice (though somewhat pricey for the room) getaway. Only ONE negative: After seeing the photos on the website (which showed the more modern suites, I am guessing), our room was more than adequate but decidedly 'tired' and needing a refreshing. We realize there are different accommodations available in different lodges, but I was disappointed by our two-Queen bed room. It did not look anything like anything I saw on the Baluchon website.

Stayed here one night in an deluxe suite nice and large and well appointed except the years are starting to show, i.e. worn out carpet, heater in bathroom not functioning and toilet bowl no longer anchored to the floor rocks sideways. Each unit of rooms has its own hot tub and sauna which is great. Meals are also excellent however service a little lacking for the stature of this auberge particularily in the Café Bistro where breakfast and lunch is served. The employees here are typically what you would find in a road house. The main dinning rooms is a one KM walk from most accommodations but well worth the price and walk. These lodge is not cheap but in my opinion worth the price.

This resort is a hidden gem. Beautiful rooms, super comfortable beds, fine dining, a top notch spa and gorgeous surroundings. Waterfalls, walking trails, kayaking and mountain biking. Highly recommended!
