The Rising Sun

What a perfectly lovely stay we had to celebrate my birthday . The room was really lovely with the best of everything. The room has its owns fridge stocked with a selection of drinks and a there were snacks which you could purchase by filling out an honesty card . A selection of high quality teas and a coffee machine complete with pods. Fresh milk in the fridge. The bedding was top quality, there were robes and even a dry robe if you fancied a dip in the sea. There were Elemis produces in the bathroom and big fluffy towels . The decoration and furniture was beautiful and we looked out over the harbour . There was a Dyson fan which was very much appreciated and even a trendy bag on the coat hooks for you to take shopping. The food was fantastic ! I can’t really put into words how good it was ! Staff were lovely and friendly. It is a pub so at times it was noisy but that’s to be expected and didn’t detract from our enjoyment. We will definitely be returning .

The room we stayed in was exceptionally comfortable, spacious, stylish and full of very thoughtful touches to help make the most of the area - the OS map, the SW Coast Path guidebook and the dry robes - and other touches to make the most of time spent in the room. The Rising Sun is in a perfect location and has a wonderfully unstuffy atmosphere. The breakfast and the staff were lovely too. I highly recommend and much look forward to returning ❤️

Great refurbed rooms. Staff weee very helpful. I was in room 3 which was a great view, huge bathroom and very costly. The Sunday roast was excellent. Breakfast was lovely, with and excellent choice of food. Perfect location and great value when compared with the other hotels in st Mawes

Stayed for 2 nights in November. Very nice hotel, recently refurbished very sensitively and feels like a high quality place. The room was excellent - spacious and with a harbour view (a superior room on a half price deal!). The Rising Sun was the only busy place in St Mawes which I think says a lot. Friendly staff, lovely breakfast and dinner (we ate at the Rising Sun both evenings) . The only minor points are we would have liked info in the room on how to use the coffee machine and how to switch the towel rail on! And more dairy free options on the dinner menu would have been good. All in all a great value break

Had a very enjoyable get-away break. Room was very comfortable and cosy. We had to turn the heating down just a little. Room had a nice seating area and a well equipped bathroom/shower. All clean. Restaurant was very good with specials every night inc Mondays! Good service in the evening and in the morning at breakfast. A good location in St Mawes for exploring the village and the coast. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Our 2 night stay at the Rising Sun was very comfortable, we had a spacious, superior room with sitting area which was only opened this year & had all the extras, even fresh milk in the fridge for our tea! Delicious biscuits too plus other snacks available in the room. The bed was extremely comfortable along with soft pillows, fluffy towels & an excellent roomy shower. Excellent breakfast choice with friendly staff. All in all a lovely stay with a special half price deal at the time.
