Inn at Woodhaven-in the Heart of the Bourbon Trail-over 12 Distilleries Nearby

Unless you want your mom to read a story and tuck you in bed at night you couldn't ask to be treated any more special than staying a night or a few nights at Woodhaven. The owners, Jeremy and Mark, have taken a very old house of pre-civil war era and have added all the comforts of what you would expect in a 5-star hotel. You are living in history and the present at the same time. I know it is as close to time travel to the past as I'll ever get without the loss of the conveniences of modern living. To highlight a few: the bed was comfortable, the toilet, shower and bathroom faucets all had plenty of hot-cold water flow. The T.V. system was a little bit of a pain as I think it is a cable and streaming service combined. But if you're looking for something to complain about you are going to be disappointed. You might as well stay in bed in the morning. But you would miss the made-to-order breakfast that Mark prepares along with Mark's very moist cake-bread that you slice and serve yourself. Jeremy will bring your coffee and water to the table. Then help yourself at the juice bar. Wow! What a way to start your day! There are also lots of other good surprises like a treat bar on the first floor that offers wrapped gourmet chocolate nuggets and a dish of M&M's. All planned I'm sure to give you strength to walk up the stairway to your room. And if you want to taste different whiskey bourbons, there is a serve yourself bar also on the first floor. When you finally get to your room there are crackers and cookies for an afternoon snack. In the evening serve yourself a glass of sherry from a bottle on the dresser. At bedtime a York Peppermint Patty will be waiting for you on a table next to the bed. Now that is hospitality with a capital H. Jeremy will tell you it is their goal to make Woodhaven a 5-Star Inn. I think it is rated 4 Stars. In my opinion they have reached their goal. The energy and love they have poured into Woodhaven the last 3 years has made the Old House come alive like I imagine it was with families over 170 years ago. This amazing inn/b&b was the perfect place for us! We came to do some bourbon trail tours and this was the perfect place to come “home” to. For couples, I highly recommend the Rose Cottage. We had our own space and it was extremely cozy and comfortable.

I would come back to Louisville just to stay here! The attic suite is 1,200 square feet and charmingly decorated with a spotless modern bathroom. Mark is the best chef! And Jeremy is an outstanding bartender! So hospitable, and you can tell they’ve put so much love and hard work into a beautiful historic home.

The Inn at Woodhaven deserves more than five stars. The Inn is beautiful, and the rooms are very spacious, comfortable and clean. We spent three nights and enjoyed a delicious gourmet breakfast every morning. The owners are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the Louisville area. We had a wonderful time in Louisville and highly recommend this Inn. Five stars +++

The Inn at Woodhaven is a beautiful historic home, with thoughtful decorations and landscaping. We were greeted by Jeremy and given a tour of the home along with history facts before being shown to our room. They provide multiple seating areas, both inside and out and a hot tub for relaxing during your stay. The breakfast, made by Mark, was out of this world as were the homemade pastries. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and inviting. They truly have thought of all the details including options for pillows on the bed, bubble bath for use when relaxing, amazingly soft robes for use in the room, cookies and sweets available throughout the day. Would absolutely stay again as well as recommend to friends and family.

The Inn at Woodhaven exceeded our expectations in every respect. Having stayed in numerous B&Bs both in the US and internationally, we can say that this Inn has perfected the art of hospitality. Every detail is thoughtfully considered to ensure that guests are comfortable and feel welcome. We will undoubtedly recommend it to others and look forward to returning. This is one of those places one could stay forever! Everything was simply perfect and the gourmet breakfast was exceptional—worth a visit on its own!

A hidden gem. Great location, atmosphere and AMAZING hosts. 5-Star all the way. Great history and architecture. Food, bourbon and cookies were delicious. This is better than a typical bed and breakfast. A great anniversary get-a-way for a couple.

We love the architecture and furnishings of this amazing bed and breakfast in a quiet residential neighborhood that is also convenient to the interstate highways that pass thru Louisville. The owners are always improving the experience, & each year we enjoy seeing enhanced landscaping and thoughtful interior touches. We enjoyed our very comfortable bed and nice linens. And the daily homemade cookies. And the choice of delicious breakfasts served in the charming dining room with nicely set tables with tablecloths. The owners are knowledgeable about local restaurants and responsive to other questions. Note the Audubon prints on the walls upstairs in the main building.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Woodhaven in May on our way home from Florida. I have mobility issues and use a walker. The Derby Room was perfectly accessible with a walk in shower. The room was immaculate and the towels and sheets luxurious. Jeremy and Mark are exquisite hosts providing many unique touches and thoughtful gestures not often found at other Inns and B and B’s. The breakfasts are served in a stunning dining room. Jeremy and Mark are masters at preparing and serving 5 star breakfasts with several choices. For an accessible bourbon tour, Jeremy recommended Evan Williams Distillery in Louisville. It was informative and fun. They do a great job, providing both entertainment and education about the distillery process. We had an amazing dinner at nearby Mesh Restaurant and had delicious take out pizza from Coals Artisan Pizza.
