Logis Maison Vauban - Hotel St Malo

Unfortunately the room was so small that we were uncomfortable and it severely impacted our stay. We had to take turns to move round the room and the single bed was perhaps 2' 3" wide. Christophe was super friendly and helpful though :-) Overall, not recommended sadly.

Myself and wife plus one other couple had a 2 night stay at this hotel. I has a great location within the walled city with parking nearby and lots of shops, Restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. Quiet area except if you are in the front of the hotel we had room numbers 1 & 2 early morning noise from rubbish collection and street cleaning, the positive on this is that the walled city is quite immaculate. On first viewing the hotel is lovely and welcoming, breakfast (additional cost) was also very good. Rooms were 3 star, very small and the beds certainly in our rooms very very uncomfortable, I would suggest replacing promptly. Showers could do with being replaced with thermostatic valves for safety if nothing else, if you are tall like myself every time you turned in the shower you end up nudging the water temperature regulator which can result in scalding or just cold water, a thermostatic valve would sort this issue straight away and is not expensive. Christophe and colleagues were excellent just let down by the room size and beds etc. David Anderson

I stayed here for just one night before catching a Ferry to the UK. I found the Hotel to be very clean and perfect for a stop over. It is also very well located for exploring the lovely walled city. Unfortunately, I left my iPad in the room and only discovered its loss on returning to the UK. The Hotel staff could not have been more helpful and offered to post it back to the UK. They also told me that they would do this without charge. So a big thank you to the Hotel for their friendly and professional response. I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel.

What a little gem of an hotel! Perfectly situated within the heart of the walled city and within easy walking distance of the Brittany Ferry port, it proved to be a true delight. Our rooms, although somewhat small, were clean and attractive with very comfortable beds and a well equipped shower room with piping hot water and fluffy white towels. The location was an ideal location from which to explore the town and the help and kindness of the manager ensured that our stay was a great experience. Many thanks .

Pleasant, small hotel within the walls of Saint-Malo old city. From the hotel it is a matter of 300-500m from almost anywhere within the city. Rooms are small, though the bed was large enough. The proprietor is very friendly and offered useful advice on seeing the old city. The breakfast is worth it, continental style and far better value than the expensive breakfasts in the restaurants around town. Happy to recommend.

Maison Vauban is situated in an attractive building in the old part of St Malo. It is also called Hotel du Paris. The rooms are small but with everything you need. Excellent service from the front desk and very helpful with advice re restaurants. The location is very convenient but note the hotel is locked until 3pm and after 8pm, but you are given an access code. Breakfast was extra at €14 but it was a good fresh continental breakfast served from 8pm. I would recommend.
