Arcadia Lodge Russell

Arcadia Lodge is a stunning property with amazing views and hosted by 2 guys, Greg and Peter, who just want you to have a fabulous time and will arrange any activity you want to do in the area. Peters breakfasts are to die for and we found lunch wasn’t needed! We stayed 5 nights and found plenty to do in the area. Arcadia Lodge was a great place to relax in the evening if we’d dined out. The house itself has an interesting history and full of character. It is beautifully appointed as was our room. A sundowner on the terrace ( or personal balcony) overlooking the lovely bay is the icing on the cake. We would definitely recommend it if you are in this part of NZ.

My Partner Colin and I have just spent 4 nights at Arcadia Lodge as part of a road trip exploration of the Far North. Each day was a full one, but every day we reveled in the knowledge that we would be returning to Arcadia Lodge, which began to feel very much like 'coming home' to be with kindly, interesting relatives. Greg and Peter, the owners and our hosts, have created a stunning "home away from home" for travelers and we admired their attention to detail in every way - from the presentation and variety of their delicious breakfasts enjoyed with a view of the bay below; to the furnishings chosen with care to suit the character of each suite of rooms; to the personal greeting at the end of each day; to their attitude that nothing was any trouble and last, to the quality of their recommendations regarding local restaurants, galleries, cafes, activities, museums and galleries. I know I am "waxing lyrical" about Greg and Peter's Arcadia Lodge, but it is a rare find in a sea of ordinary accommodation options. We wish them well, we will be recommending Arcadia Lodge to friends and family and we will be returning! Melanie

Hi, I’ve travelled, lived, and worked on five continents. I have never completed a review so highly before! Greg and Peter are my friends. They must be my friends, because I’ve stayed with them now on two occasions in the past 12 months. They are bright, okay that means intelligent, charming, and incredibly capable of making my stay with them hugely successful. For a starters, if you like truly authentic classy places , The Arcadia Lodge is superb. Okay you’ve heard enough! Design, room quality, introduction and welcome to the Lodge, and phenomenal breakfast with other interesting travellers will rarely be exceeded. Peter will get everything done for you, they’ll get you places, and with people, most couldn’t even think of. That’s it, have fun!
