Roydon Marina Village Lodges

I visited Roydon marina with my wife after seeing on your Website all we wanted is information and to have a look around thinking of renting a lodge for holliday but in reception I was just asking about parking and details but receptionist was very rude to my wife saying what do you want you can't just look around but website says different and repeated what do you want and no you can't walk around this was in front of other people I am sorry but her attitude is disgusting and this lady is in the wrong job we both felt very unconvertable a terrible experience .

Nice and peaceful hot tub was amazing will definitely go back Marina nice to have a walk around Boat house cafe Had a mocha and tea very nice and really hot Local shop near by and a couple of pubs with in walking distance Train station right outside the village if you don’t drive and easy access to London Very friendly staff in reception And a very pleasant young man in the local Morrisons very helpful he was

Went here for a peaceful night away for our anniversary. We a lovely meal at the indian restaurant followed by a couple of drinks at the clubhouse bar. There was no Friday night entertainment as stated on the website, and the photo on the website is not up to date! It portrays quality comfy seating but there was only rustic furniture more suitable for outdoors. We had bacon rolls there for breakfast too which weren't great. Having said that, staff and ambience were very nice, with a great view of the marina. The hotel room was lovely, and we had a very comfortable night's sleep. We also went for a walk along the river, which was very relaxing. Overall, a decent night away to switch off from the working week, and we will return.

Upon arriving at the beautiful Roydon Marina, I was initially impressed by the setting and surroundings. However, my experience at the main reception was deeply disappointing and left a lasting negative impression. When I approached the reception to check in, I was completely ignored by the staff, who chose to continue their personal conversation over a cup of tea rather than acknowledge or assist us. It was only after a noticeable delay that they eventually checked us in—an interaction marked by rudeness and a surprisingly hostile attitude. For front-of-house staff, this level of service was frankly shocking and unacceptable. Later in the day, a member of my team returned to the reception to complete the deposit for our accommodation, only to be met again with the same abrupt and discourteous behavior. Roydon Marina is a beautiful location with a lot of potential, but the poor customer service we encountered significantly undermined the experience. I strongly recommend that management invest time and effort into staff training, particularly in customer service, to ensure the standard of service aligns with the quality of the facilities.

Stayed in a lodge from March to May and was very comfortable. Lovely position and setting with river/canal walks. Close to main roads and has a station with direct link to London. Friendly staff on hand to help. Great on site pub/café and a great Indian restaurant.

We stayed for two nights in a deluxe hotel room. A very well appointed and comfortable room with lovely views onto the canal bank. USB charging points and a little fridge in the room were nice little extras. Lovely bathroom with a big shower and the usual complimentary soaps, shampoos etc. Our room was in a small block, so was ground floor and we were able to park right outside. The reception staff were efficient and polite. The clubhouse over looking the marina was very nice - we didn’t eat in there but had a couple of pleasant drinks before dinner. The views are lovely. We ate at the Indian restaurant on site which again was very pleasant with an excellent friendly waiter. Food was very good. We’ll definitely be back!
