Travelodge Tunbridge Wells

The staff were very helpful when I was unable to park as a person with limited mobility. They were obviously used to the problem! Creaky floorboards in an old building made me conscious of disturbing others in the floor below.

The building is past it's best, with problem after problem, the worst being room smelling of a sewage spill at some stage and should not have been rented out

This hotel is a totally awful!!! No hot water and the receptionist was very rude about it. Not offering anyway of recompense for no hot water to shower or anything and no time limit of when it will be fixed. During Xmas there is no way it will be fixed any time soon. A total disgrace

Hotel was wonderful. Very large clean rooms and lovely staff however breakfast was quite bad. They were only bringing out food for about 3 people at a time so helping yourself was a 20 min wait. Oh then when you waiting the food had already gone so you had to wait again. Horrendous

Building needs renovating and rooms were tired. Flush was broken and it was fixed quickly. Paint was peeled in the rooms and bath mat was stained. Sheets and towels were clean. Bed was comfy although the rooms had a smell. Staff were extremely friendly.

A typical Travelodge - simple without too many bells and whistles - offering the bog standard experience you expect from the brand. Was a pleasant enough overnight stay, with a comfy room, but word of warning about the parking. The hotel doesn’t have many spaces available, and on arriving back after our night out, found no spaces available. Other cars had parked on the road opposite the hotel, where on the left was a small layby, but the right was double yellow lines. However, some cars had parked beyond the yellow lines, on the path, and at first we parked up alongside these. We decided against it though, as the hotel said we were likely to get a ticket, and sure enough, we woke up in the morning to the cars beyond the yellow lines all having tickets on their windscreens. Thankfully we had moved our car to a car park next to the cricket pitch, where there is a path through to the road the hotel is on, so just a short 2 to 3 minute walk. It was dark when I parked up and I couldn’t see any payment signs for the car park, so took a risk by leaving it there, and the hotel said they thought it was pay and display, but luckily I didn’t have any ticket in the morning. In the light of morning I still couldn’t see any signs, so I do think it is a free car park, but please don’t take my word for it. Another word of warning is that the breakfast wasn’t very good… items running low all the time and some items like the sausage and orange juice just not tasting very nice, but it was generally okay and acceptable.
