Hôtel Valdys Thalasso & Spa - Beau Rivage

We have travelled through Roscoff many times in the last 20 years, but this is the first time we stopped over. We visited ile de Batx, hired electric bikes, and had an amazing 24 hours. There was the Roscoff Market, the beaches, the nightlife and a very comfortable stay at this hotel. We used the included spa facilities, sauna. steam room, pools and hot tops in both early evening and morning, and felt so relaxed when we left. We didnt have time for treatments, but the included facilities made our break worth while. Highly recommended. Would have been 5 star but we like to swim pre breakfast and everything opened at 9am, and the hot tubs closed early in the evening

Lovely location on the edge of the sea and town. Perfect for a short break with much to explore and do around Roscoff. Staff very helpful and friendly.

We were very happy with this hotel. It’s quite a smart spa hotel but the staff were very relaxed and there was no demanding room numbers or wrist bands to use the pools. When you arrive they kit you out with a gown and carry bag and as long as you have Lycra swimwear, hat and flip flops you are good to go. We went every morning before the public can go in at 11 and found we were generally alone in the sports pool and never crowded in the hydro pool. Both are salt water and warm. We paid for the sea view and were on floor 2. I think wherever you were in this hotel there would be issue with the sea view, either with people walking past, cars or (in our case) the back of the kitchens. However our view of sea was probably the best in the hotel if you turned your chair away from the kitchen. As it was hot and we needed the window open the permanent noise of the extractor fan was a bit irritating, and sometimes there were delivery vans making a noise. The room was good however, quite spacious with useful extras like fridge, safe and kettle. We had room to do yoga! Plenty of storage and hanging space, could have done with some slightly brighter lighting for reading by. We didn’t use the restaurant so can’t comment on that but it would have been nice if the bar had opened for coffee earlier than 11.30. On the other hand there is a cafe just across the driveway adjacent to the beach. The beach is a public beach but very pretty and easy to access from the hotel. There also seems to be a sea swimming pool for when the tide is out but we never saw anyone use it. Parking was easy but was not adjacent to the hotel. We were able to walk everywhere from this hotel, even to the Botanic Gardens which was about 30 minutes. Roscoff is quite small.

The hotel is right on a lovely little beach and the views are amazing. The hotel is great value and has beautiful food, served by really friendly and helpful staff. We had a lovely warm welcome at reception. Our room was bright and comfortable. We had a great sleep. The town of Roscoff is worth visiting. We will return, and we'll stay at this hotel again.

The spa was a great experience, the restaurant less so and actually much less so. Having booked a table for 80m we were 'surprised' to be sent away. The 28 euro menu was not available and a very rude member of staff told us that we would have to order from the 38 euro .menu. As we were about to walk put the situation was retrieved by Tomas and good food was then delivered. This restaurant needs to radically improve if it wants to retain its rating.

We enjoyed our stay here, the location, staff, spa and dinner service were really good. However, the building needed some maintenance and the cleanliness of the room, especially the bathroom wasn’t up to standard.
