The property is more tired, more dirty and more cheaply managed than I would have expected even knowing it wouldn’t be great (based on prior reviews). The room was super dated, walls peeling in bathroom, bathroom door didn’t shut, outlets didn’t work, and the couch was as thin as was possible. Breakfast was all processed foods, never any fresh bananas, oatmeal container empty and the weakest coffee I have ever tasted. Oh and tacking on a parking charge without asking if I have a car, nor disclosing this charge is as tacky and cheap as can be. As a titanium member, I wanted the points but will go non-Marriott next time I’m in Rockford.

Tucked in a road with a slew of other chain hotels, the Residence Inn I Rockford is typical for the franchise. Our two bedroom unit was quiet and clean with no issues. Breakfast was your basic passable steam table options. A mild surprise was the modest parking fee, but otherwise no issues.

After I made a HUGE mistake by booking elsewhere only to find it inhabitable, I was quickly relieved to find the Residence Inn. Jerry was A-MAZING with booking and making sure my night was turned around. He greeted me with genuine energy and I could tell he enjoyed his job. The room was nice and breakfast was good. Mike, the manager, was friendly and helping with breakfast. Stay here if you can.....you won't be disappointed.

Business traveler. The good: convenient location in a safe area. Fairly clean. Free breakfast. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The not so good: worn carpets, peeling walls. Hotel smelled musty in hallways. TV not working, and spiders in room. Breakfast selection average. I will not stay here again.

We stayed here for a long weekend with our dog. We had a corner room which was a great size. The room was clean but has some deferred maintenance. For instance there was a knob missing from the vanity. The hotel was fairly quiet and there was a large grassy area for the dog to walk. Our HBO never worked the entire weekend and internet was a bit slow.

Very friendly staff. Two bedroom suite with Kitchen was roomy and comfortable. We are local to the hotel but stayed here for the the pool, which the kids enjoyed. Breakfast was good, convenient and well stocked. Will come back on a regular basis.
