Capricorn Restcamp

We (it means two family with children) spent here one night on our way from Sesriem to Windhoek. Karsten is very nice and modest person. He prepared us great dinner and breakfast and told us many interesting things about living in Namibia.

Beautiful rest camp in the middle of nowhere on the route to sussvlei . There 'are four bungolaw with gas heater and a gas stowe outside (if you want to make coffee or tea) The Ower is too the chef and eat with the guest. All rest camp is powered by solar and the water is pumped from a well in the same area. The kitchen are good. Wifi is available but is poor. the power is limited and is not possible to use hairdryer. Blackout are possible is better to have a flashlight with spare battery and some power bank

We received a great welcome. Luckily we arrived during a birthday party with guests of varios Namibian backgrounds from the local neighborhood . Our great host Karsten speaks German and English and is a phantastic cook. The spacious bungalow offered everything we required including potable water from the water tap. From our host and his friends we learned a lot about Namibia, We could not have a better introduction to Namibia.

It was the greatest place to stay in and just to wake up on the sunrise and watching the sunset on the mountains it was a great experience. We made friends with the greate Bully such a lovely dog very friendly to guests.

Three days at Capricorn Rest Camp were just great, conveniently located place with great owner, perfect food and nice clean bungalows made our trip. camp is layered in remote area in the middle of nature but with close distance to major attractions in Namibia, recommend to everyone.

Das Restcamp ist ideal für einen Aufenthalt auf dem Weg nach Sossusvlei. Carsten ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber, er kocht das Abendmenü selbst (sehr lecker) und auch beim Frühstück lässt er keine Wünsche offen. Wir bezogen einen der 4 Bungalows, welche sehr liebevoll eingerichtet sind, mit allen was man braucht, ein überdurchschnittliches großes Bad ist zu erwähnen. Im Camp gibt auch 4 Campsite - Plätze mit eigener Sanitäranlage die sauber und gepflegt sind. Der Strom im Camp wird aus Sonnenenergie gewonnen. Sein Trinkwasser kommt aus dem hauseigenen Brunnen und hat eine sehr gute Qualität. Für die Kaffee- oder Teezubereitung ist am Bungalow ebenfalls gesorgt. Am Abend kann man den wunderschönen Sternenhimmel bewundern, dafür hat Carsten extra Teleskope angeschafft. Man sollte keinen Luxus erwarten, dafür stimmt das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis, wir haben nichts vermisst. Carsten hilft auch gern bei der Tourenplanung weiter. Er hat uns einen Ausflug ins Naukluft-Gebirge empfohlen zu den Natur-Pools, sehenswert. Es war bestimmt noch nicht unsere letzte Reise durch Namibia, auf alle Fälle darf ein Aufenthalt bei Carsten nicht fehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können es nur empfehlen.
