Good afternoon, I would like to tell Everyone about my Experience at The Groundswell in D’Escousse on Friday May 5/2023 We arrived to check in around 5:45 pm and met the Owner, Matt. He took me to our room which was The White Room. It was a cold day in Cape Breton and he hadn’t turned the heat up in the room and it was a late check in. Matt said I’ll turn it on now and it won’t take long to heat up and left. Then I unpacked the car and couldn’t get the TV to work, so I called Matt. He came and informed us that there was no Cable, just using ROKU and I asked him if he could please turn CTV News it was 6:15 pm. He said he wasn’t familiar with finding different programs and he didn’t have time to look for that. He offered us a Firestick from his children’s room, we’re Seniors, so I told him that wouldn’t help much. He informed us that he was short on staff and had to go. He wanted to tend to the Bar and didn’t seem much interested in helping Us. Then my husband went to shave and we couldn’t get hot water in the sink. So we left and only came back to go to bed. The next morning I tried to take a shower, got as far as my hair shampooed and conditioned, then the water was scalding me, I couldn’t reach the shower head without burning my skin, so I got out and turn the hot water down. God back in and then it went to ice cold, didn’t have a good experience at all. The bed was comfortable and we had a good sleep. We will never stay at The Groundswell and never recommend it to Anyone. Helen and Wally
