I'm not the first person to leave a negative review regarding the mothers day event. As mentioned by many there was not enough food, tables crammed together in an unsafe manor and hardly any staff. My true disappointment comes from how the company have handled the situation following. A noble thing to do would have been to hold their hands up and admit they were at fault and issue refunds. I would have had respect for the buisness and management. You may come to Stanley House and have a great experience, but if you don't, then please don't expect any consideration or understanding from management. You will not be compensated nor will your opinion as the customer matter to them at all. They just want to make money. Which is what they did on Mother's Day. Disgusting, money grabbing behaviour. Completely unacceptable.

We booked our wedding for July and it was perfect! After an initial issue with our original wedding coordinator (who left the business) Katie our new wedding coordinator was just amazing, she looked after us and kept us informed all the way up to the day! And after the wedding too. We had a fabulous taster evening for the meals we’d chosen for the day and had wine paired to the courses! It was all delicious and the staff in Fred’s were very polite and attentive! We had the bridal suite booked for the evening before the wedding and also the wedding night! It was such a stunning room, really spacious and bright. We had lunch and dinner in Fred’s brasserie and although the service was slow in the evening with the desserts, the food was excellent. On the morning of the wedding we had breakfast, which was very tasty. A choice of cereal, fruit and yogurt and I had a full cooked breakfast. While we were at breakfast housekeeping (who were so friendly and helpful) did a room refresh so it was perfect for getting ready for the wedding! There was a last minute change in wedding coordinator on the day, due to a family emergency, however, Rodrigo at short notice took on the role and really looked after us. There was a moment when there was an issue with the music but was quickly sorted. The venue, the grounds, the room, the food and all of the staff were excellent and I can’t fault anything. Even our florist complimented the staff on how they had been warmly welcomed and looked after when dressing the ceremony room too! Sometimes, when little things don’t go quite to plan, it’s how it’s rectified that makes all the difference and that’s when you can really say you’ve experienced customer service good or not. The service we receive throughout our journey was exemplary and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Stanley House to any of my friends and family in the future. Thanks for making our day one to remember and we look forward to coming back soon!

The views were beautiful very peaceful no noise. Slept great could have a more diverse breakfast menu.

I have stayed at this hotel a total of 4 times in the last 12 months and on this occasion I felt that standards have slipped. We were allocated a room in the old building which I never gave a good review when I stayed there before. These rooms are not very well sound proofed and have no air conditioning. This time I was travelling with my wife and had booked stating 2 x adults. The room was made up for a single occupancy with extra bath towels etc stored away. On this visit the hotel has seemed to no longer offer a bath robe. When we went down to dinner it took some time to be acknowledged by any staff member. When shown to our table we were not offered any water or advised what items from the menu were unavailable. When we came to order it then transpired what my wife wanted was not available so this information would have been useful when being seated. The food has certainly gone up in price and down in portion size. The breakfast choices are limited and are heavy on egg related dishes. It would be nice to see a waffle and / or pancake option. Upon check out we were not even asked how our stay was. In summary, although this is a pleasant location to stay at it would appear it no longer reflects the pricing it charges to the service level offered.

Met be very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is very inviting and clean. Lovely area outside to sit in the good weather. Room was spacious , clean and well equipped. We stayed in the same room on our last visit. Attended a function where the meal couldn’t be faulted. Breakfast was hot and well prepared with plenty of choice

If you’re looking for an exciting experience you may come out disappointed. Suites in part of the hotel don’t have air con, and no lift. Breakfast is advertised as full breakfast but presented as small portions on a big plate. And not particularly tasty.
