Lydia Maris Resort & Spa

Definitely not a 5 star hotel which its claimed to be. The room was dirty and the food was disappointing. Not a whole lot of choice with it being poor quality. Dinner time felt like musical chairs trying to find somewhere to sit with the whole experience feeling chaotic with the staff looking stressed and overworked, including at the bar. This is not a criticism of the staff as they were all very good, with lots of reviews praising the entertainment team who deserve a shout out. Would also mention the gyros lady was excellent. Overall we were expecting a 5 star hotel experience after seeing some good reviews and good pictures on the booking site, but felt deceived after spending over £2500. Please be cautious of this when booking as some of the reviews make out that this place is 5 star quality and the pictures on the booking sites make out that the hotel is modern and clean which it’s not. I would rate this hotel 3 stars, please don’t claim to be 5 star and deceive your guests.

We've just come back from a brilliant holiday. We arrived about midnight the staff on the front desk very helpful got us all a drink and there was food available if we wanted it. We had a family suite which was cleaned everyday fresh towels etc. Aircon in the room was ok and kept us cool in both rooms. The food was one the best all inclusive I've had plenty of choice. Normally as a family we go out at least once for a meal but never felt the need too because the food was very nice. In addition to the restaurant food the wood fire pizzas and the gyros were available all day and were awesome. There were plenty sunbeds I used to get up about 7.30 and go down and get a sunbed no sunbed wars in this hotel. Now to the best part of the holiday. The animation team Gustavo Evalina Alex and Mike were brilliant always had a smile on their faces and which in turn made us have smiles on our faces. The daytime entertainment was brilliant darts water polo aqua fit etc also the evening entertainment was just as good had us laughing out loud. Other hotels need to learn a lesson from the Lydia Maris There was virtually no queuing for drinks and food all the staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great holiday! Really lovely hotel, busy pool, could feel a bit "penned in" by sunloungers at times. Not ideal if you are after a relaxing holiday but great for families. Superior room was nice, air con was rubbish though. Took forever to cool the room then would cut out constantly. Food was ok, something for everyone. The staff were all lovely, the entertainment team work so hard to keep everyone happy and deserve a big bonus. They are a huge credit to the hotel.

Really nice hotel, lovely staff! There is an on site gift shop with drinks, snacks, and souvenirs and the ladies staffing it were very friendly and talkative. Our cleaner Maria was always cheerful and happy to have a chat with us, and always did an amazing job! As well as this, I had left some items in the hotel before my flight and the staff were incredibly helpful with getting it back to me. It can be difficult as a picky eater at dinner times as I did end up having the same dinner all week but this is the case for me at most hotels and I had no complaints about the food, it was lovely.

We recently stayed at the Lydia Maris for 10 days as a family of 4 and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a good location as it is not too far from everything in Kolymbia. The shops are only a couple of minutes up the road and the beaches are within walking distance. Approx 10 to 15 minutes away. The hotel itself is excellent and all staff work hard and we found them all to be very pleasant and helpful. The food was good and there was something for us to eat at every meal. The pizzas and the gyros are a nice touch and both are really good. We did eat out a couple of nights but this was only because we like to try out local restaurants anywhere we go. Drinks were good and the bar staff at the pool bar were excellent with their service. We stayed in room 317 and it had a shared patio outside that came in handy as it meant that when it got too hot for the kids outside and they needed to come in for a break, we could still relax on the sunbeds out the back. The cleaning lady was excellent and our room was cleaned spotlessly and there was fresh towels provided everyday. The biggest shout out has to go to the entertainment team. Alex, Gustavo, Evelina and Mike. They are fantastic at what they do and they made our holiday what it was. They were brilliant with our kids so much so that our youngest was crying on the plane going home and saying how much he will miss them. They kept both the kids entertained and myself and my wife. It's a laugh every minute with them and I can't praise them highly enough. Thanks guys for making our holiday special. The kids keep going on about you all and how much they want to come back to see yous. We had booked for a different destination in 2026 before coming here but we are now considering changing our holiday to come back to the Lydia Maris again next year as we had such a good time. If this is not possible to do then we will definitely be back again the following year but for 2 weeks as the 10 days flew by. This has been our favourite family holiday by far out of anywhere and I highly recommend it for anyone that is looking to visit Rhodes. Thank you!

Everything was great and everyone was lovely. Lydia Maris is in a very good location with a bus stop right outside the hotel, the buses are regular and cheap to use. The staff at the hotel are amazing they all work so hard, a special mention to the animation team. Alex, Gustavo, Evalina and Mike where non stop constantly making people laugh, they're the best! The food was plentiful, no reason for anyone to go hungry and dining areas kept clean and tidy. Not forgetting the Gyros lady and pizza man who worked very hard. Our room was cleaned thoroughly house keeping provided Clean towels and bedding daily. We will definitely be back again
