Rodos Star Hotel

Absolutely amazing! Currently staying in the Rodos Star, it is our 7th day out of 10 and really we have zero complaints! After reading reviews I was worried (we brought the parents) and thought they would struggle with the location. Yes the hill is steep but it is not actually that long and by taking it steady my in law of 62 with back problems made it up just fine. Food - wow, you will not go hungry! My fussy children find something everynight (pizza and chips ) The rest of us have tried something new each day and have not been disappointed yet. Gryos at lunch are amazing! Drinks for all inclusive end at 11pm but they do reopen the bar after so you can buy more if you like but we have found it more than enough time! Pool bar opens at 10am. One review said the spirits were weak, they are not! Very strong drinks and brilliant service from the barman. There isn’t entertainment every night but we have just sat around and played cards, when entertainment is on its just as you would expect in a hotel, tribute acts and karaoke. Staff are so so friendly and really cannot do enough for you. Rooms cleaned daily, aircon works like a treat, tad cold at night if I am honest we stayed in the original building and the rooms were perfectly adequate, small rooms but comfy beds and a veranda looking over the pool. Bunk beds in the family room separated by a privacy glass door. My 17yo sons have slept fine in their beds! Pool is amazing, cool in a morning but lovely and warm in the afternoon and the guy who takes care of the pool does a brilliant job every morning. Location - 33€ for a taxi to Rhodes and takes about 30 minutes. Beach is not a 20 minute walk! More like 30 but it isn't horrendous. Local bars in Afandou village are fantastic value for money and again service is amazing! Everyone here is so friendly! Sunbeds - yes there are sunbed wars each morning with people going down from 4:30am but we have never not got enough and there are 7 of us. Sometimes I have gone down early, other times we just had pot luck but there are plenty about and it is August at that! Overall, for a 3* hotel it is amazing and I would highly recommend! We will certainly visit again!

This is our 5th visit to this hotel and we can not fault it all the staff are absolutely amazing and treat you as part of there family. Fussy as we are about food we always found something to eat, there is a snack bar that opens next to the pool bar in the morning and again for an hour in the afternoon. There is a steep hill down to the village however we do not find this an issue at all

We have just had the most amazing holiday staying at this hotel, the food was fantastic, staff were incredible So friendly they make you feel like family nothing was too much trouble. This was the first proper Holiday I have taken my 18 year old daughter on and we’ve had the time Of our lives, we felt safe and met so many lovely people. Moss the hotel manager is amazing, I would give her 10 stars if I could were going to miss her and everyone so much we will definitely be back xxx
