The Lamb and Flag Inn

If your after a quiet quality nights sleep, avoid this place. It's a Great pub with excellent food but the accommodation was awful. Rooms could do with a serious refurbishment. We paid £70 a night for a room (No breakfast of food included) The noise from the pub below was extremely noisy until after midnight.. The shower was broken with damp and mould marks on the ceiling, The blinds were broken and the mattress felt like it was 20 years old. It was a real shame as one of our party, decided he couldn't cope with trying to sleep a second night , so went home early.

Visited for Sunday lunch on our first full day of holiday. Staff seemed very friendly. We ordered 6 roasts and 1 children’s meal. Asked if some of the veg could be left off 2 of the plates as knew wouldn’t be eaten and would go to waste. We were told they could t do this but could put the veg on a side plate ???? The beef was extremely chewy. One of our party nearly broke a tooth on a potato they hadn’t been peeled properly and the rest of the potatoes were hard. It’s a shame as we were planning on going back there for my twin daughters birthday on the Wednesday. We went somewhere else and had an amazing meal there

A convenient location to visit Rhyader and the kite feeding. Staff and service were very good but it would have been useful to include parking information in the preliminary information as there is no parking on site. The room and facilities were adequate, good value, but a bit of redecoration in the shower room is needed. The road was very noisy with heavy lorries from late at night and early morning.

Visited hear with my husband and two children, this place was a last minute booking for Fathers Day and we loved it. The food was well presented, well cooked to high standards and great timing. All the staff were polite and kind and even interacted with our children. If we lived closer we would definitely return. Highly recomend the food :)

Here for filming. Extremely dissatisfied. The floor was so noisy it dipped at loades of points making you feel like you was going to fall through the floor and with a 5 month old that’s not a great feelings. First morning of going to work the hot water wasn’t working so had to wash with freezing cold water. Complained and was promised for it to be working. Fair play I came home after working and the heating and water was piping hot. So waited until the morning to shower again before working. To my dis belief it was freezing cold yet again. No one around to complain to this time so had to go to work having washed my hair in freezing cold water. In desperate need of a makeover or I’m not used to these type of places. It was big and enough random beds to sleep atleast 5 people. Front door was extremely stiff. Food downstairs only served at random times (hard to get used to if coming from London) and the whole town closes down at 9pm. Look outside at 9.30pm and it’s like a ghost town.

Whe have been here several times in the past for lunch and really enjoyed our meal, but this time it looked like a five year old had plated it up, and the food was either over done or not cooked enough, we will not eat here again........

Was a perfect night stay even though i got there around 10pm so did not have food.

Stayed in a local village with no amenities so chose some where in the next town over. The staff and service was great but the food was average. The kids portions are HUGE, I’d actually say bigger than my adult meal. I had the chicken pie and it was very bland but after not eating due to travel all day I woofed it down. My husband enjoyed his burger, I wish I had that instead. The garlic bread was also very nice but not enough garlic. A little tweek on some flavours would make this place better.
