AVA Apartments by Heimaleiga

Brilliant Perfect location , last house on the end of rainbow road. Lovely spacious apartment with all things you’d need for a comfortable stay. Only issue was we had the penthouse which had amazing views of both the mountains and up rainbow road to the church but that did include a few flights of spiral stairs which was more an issue on the first and last day with a big suitcase. Felt safe & wasn’t too loud with the road noise.

The Ava apartments are ideally located for walking exploration around Reykjavik. We had a short challenge getting the access code to work and arrived before the cleaner was finished but it wasn’t a long wait. The street noise can be heard but just being in Reykjavik was such a treat.

Plenty of room and a great location. We had the top floor apartment. No elevator, so be ready to climb some stairs. Also, no bath or hand soap was provided, so you'll need to buy some from a market a couple of blocks away. One warning: When they say checkout time is at 10 AM, they mean it. The place is unattended, so they disable the key code for the apartment and the building right at 10:00. If you're carrying luggage outside around 10:00 and have to go back in the building, you're out of luck.

Would highly recommend staying here. We had booked room with a view however they had overbooked so moved us to Ava 4th floor apartment (penthouse). Its a one bedroom apartment that comes with everything you need - fully kitted out kitchen, dinning table, lounge area, netflix, prime, wifi, very comfortable double bed, 3 small balconies, toilet/shower room with Shampoo/conditioner/soap/toilet paper. Apartment was very clean. Loved the location right on rainbow street (a little noisy Sat night). it was code entry to main door and apartment door so no keys to worry about.

Loved absolutely everything about this apartment, it's a real hidden gem right in the centre of Reykjavik. The location is fantastic- so so close to everything including the bus stop for going on tours, restaurants and bars and the famous rainbow street and church. It is beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly need. Very cosy and great for winding down after long day trips. Nothing better than kicking off the snow boots, turning on the heating and all sitting together watching Netflix. Really enjoyed having the kitchen facilities and saving ourselves a bit of money being able to go to the local Bonus for groceries and making breakfasts and packed lunches for daytrips. Also used the luggage storage facilities which was great for dumping our bags and getting out exploring.

We stayed in these apartments for just under a week as a family of four with two teenagers. The apartment is very well decorated - as you walk in it’s one of those ‘ooh this is nice’ moments! Comfortable furnishings, lovely well equipped kitchen and gloriously hot shower. The apartment is warm and the beds are comfortable. The location of the apartment is superb - I don’t think you could get better for walking around the whole of Reykjavik with plenty of restaurants and shops literally on your doorstep. Please note there is no washing machine. The only improvements that I would suggest are the addition of a mirror in one of the bedrooms as currently the only mirror is in the bathroom which makes getting ready very time consuming with 4 people having to take it in turns.
