This hotel and its whole service is absolutely amazing and I‘m glad we got to spend our holidays here. There are a few shops and a small supermarket inside the hotel premises. But there are more cheaper options outside of the hotel. The rooms were cleaned everyday, even clothes we forgot on the bed or floor were folded nicely when we came back. The pool surprised us a little by being saltwater. Since the sea was right in front of the hotel, we didn’t use the pool anyway. The dinner buffet had a different theme each day, but we wished we could get more Greek food instead of Italian or Asian. There‘s different entertaining shows each night, but we wished there were more traditional Greek music/dancing shows. It was mainly Latino, it would have been nice to see something more fitting to the Greek culture. The service during breakfast and dinner was wonderful, they were polite and they remembered us (hopefully in a positive way). You get beach towels for the pool and beach which you return after use. This is great, so you don‘t have to pack your own bath towels. Why only 4 stars? Considering the overall price of a stay in this hotel, after all it‘s 5 stars, we didn’t expect the drinks during dinner to NOT be included. We paid 5,50€ extra per dinner. Also the drinks are generally quite expensive, which was a bit disappointing. It‘s okay to charge extra for them, but these prices were too high. You also have to pay an extra tax charge (no clue what for) at the end of the stay, which for us was 10€/night. Make that 7 nights and you‘re already at 70€ just for that. Add the drinks during dinner, from the beach, the bar, etc. you‘ll get quite the bill at the end of your stay. I really recommend you write down everything you ordered (+tips), so you don’t get jumpscared by that bill. There‘s a Lidl supermarket about 20 minutes away, where you can buy water and snacks, so you don‘t have to buy the expensive alternatives in the hotel. The hotel feels like it‘s in the middle of nowhere, with difficult public transit. We used a taxi to get to Rethymno (10 mins, 10€). I highly recommend the taxi option if you don‘t speak or read Greek. We got so lost during a bus ride, it took us ages to find our way around. Overall I really enjoyed our stay here and felt so relaxed after our vacation.
