Grecotel Creta Palace

I feel compelled to say something special about my experience at Creta Palace. Having travelled the world staying in 5* hotels for most of my life, I have never experienced such warmth and care I received from the staff at this hotel, especially the team who look after all the guests in the restaurant at meal times. It actually brought me very close to tears at one point - it was so touching. I particularly want to call out to Cecilia, who was wonderful in every way; Evelyn, who was so compassionate & caring when I was in great pain; Nicos, who was just great, and George who helped carry my food back to the table from the buffet. Also, Nasia as one of the guest relations personnel with her enchanting eyes and naturally charming smile effortlessly defused any minor concerns we may have had. I arrived on a much needed holiday (with my wife) with some pre-existing health conditions as well as my long-time food allergies of peanuts, gluten and lactose. Cecilia particularly went out of her way to discuss with the chef what I could have and it altogether went very well and my Epi-Pen returned home unused. It was so encouraging to hear that the staff genuinely desired feedback so that they can improve their service offering. So in the spirit of giving some constructive advice I would suggest that for dessert you maybe consider baking some gluten free cakes like Greek honey and lemon (or orange) cake; GF almond biscuits; Meringue nests with fresh berries and/or Loukoumi. There is actually a lot to choose from (rather than just fruit or ice cream). I look forward next time ! Regarding the accommodation, our only niggle was that we would have liked the room to be a bit bigger and the bathroom was a little small. Nasia said there was nothing else available so we believed her and didn't put up a fuss. In summary: AMAZING STAFF; Good Food & Lovely Location. Sincerely Yours, Paul & Janet

Het beste hotel waar ik was. Reeds 25 jaar.The beach is wonderful Very nice staff I prefer to come to meet Antonis, Pavlos Manolis and ofcourse POPI Super I like foods Beach bar and Skybar I certanly Will come back to this wonderwel hotel as long as my heather is ok

Stayed here for 1 week -first time also in Crete.Beautiful hotel and grounds.They greet you at the door on arrival,offer welcome cold drinks,whisk away your bags and leave a beautiful presentation of fruits/pastries & prosecco in your room. We were in a junior suite ground level, which was spacious and had a terrace with table/chairs & sunloungers out on the grass. Cleanliness was great, and housekeeping attend daily.nespresso machine in the room. However, we had to ask for refills. We did have some issues with service at the beach bar, but when raised, the Operations Manager was very responsive and dealt proactively with these by meeting with us for feedback whilst we were still resident in the hotel. We appreciated this quick response. The main pool area is busy-kids shallow area also. Would have preferred an additional adult only pool! There is direct access onto the private beach -quite stony at the waters edge so bring water shoes! Listed as 4km to Retheymon but it's along a busy road and not the most pleasant walk in the heat. Taxi is €10 each way set fare. I believe there is also a bus but we didn't use it. The town is beautiful with loads of fantastic restaurants and bars. Lovely little shops throughout the old town
