Hotel Cabogata Jardín

I stayed at the hotel for a night, it was really relaxing and I still regret why I didn’t stay longer! The atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant and you could escape from the noisy world for a while ! Room : spacious, clean and neat with stunning sea view. Breakfast: divers, fresh , delicious

After a pretty hectic couple of months, I decided to book a solo trip to Spain and after some searching, this hotel was the best price. However, I now understand why the hotel was such a low cost and TUI listing the hotel as 4* is laughable. Some aspects of the hotel are lovely (my room was nice and modern and the pool area is really nice) but everything else is bang average. The staff’s downright unpleasantness and hostility to English people is also something that I need to mention. During this week stay I have lost count of the amount of times that I have been completely blanked by members of staff when trying to order food and drink to a point where I’ve had to get up from my table and walk over to the bar area so they physically cannot ignore me. Spanish people, however, are served at their tables and quite clearly treated a lot better. I have worked in customer service roles my whole working life, and know for a fact that it is not difficult to be nice to people - Particularly people like me who are clearly travelling on their own. Another absolutely mental thing that just happened was that a short time before me typing this, I returned to my sun bed after popping to the toilet (I was gone for a max of ten mins.) on my sun bed was a note warning me not to leave my belongings or else the staff have a right to remove them if they are getting in the way of other guests??? Literally all of the beds around me bar one are completely empty!! I have been on a sun bed in the same area all week so the staff know that I get here early and stay here all day, so to receive this note is frankly quite nasty and underhanded. What would you like me to do, wee in the pool??? I have attached photos to this review showing the note as well as the empty beds around me. Overall, weather has been fab and it’s been lovely to have a relaxing break away. I wish, however, that I’d booked the Barcelo next door instead. Do better Cabogata Jardin.

Thank you so much for everything!!! Check in was easy and fast, hotel was lovely’s and the food was superb every single day! We met the F&B manager Oscar who was outstanding on helping us with all our allergies and problems that we had. Once again thanks and we will be back again for sure.

The worst hotel ever !!! Where do I start arrived in almeria tui guy was not helpful to coach area coach driver was rude didn't understand cabogata jardin hotel as we didn't know what coach to get anyway thought it will be great at hotel not to worry well only got worse there is no way this is 4 star!! Hotel reception staff so rude waited 3 hours in blistering heat for our room no complimentary drink nothing from them almeria is completely barren!! No where to go unless you spend money in taxis 50 euros upwards anyway the rooms are crap and old omg the aircon was horrendous kept asking could they turn it up or fix it our door in room you needed to be a body builder to open it so old The rooms are red hot and not clean under beds and bathroom slap dash we were the only English in the hotel and didn't have time for us the food was cold and disgusting same every night the waiters were giving the Spanish the free jugs of water and giving us bottled to pay 5 euros for and we were embarrassed when we had to pay for a dinner and had to sort it with hotel manager as we were half board as a waitress carmen who was the one embarrased us and so rude to us the hotel bar was expensive beware they aren't to quick to to serve you either there the sports bar is a joke There is no entertainment!!! Just boring singer nothing for kids we went next door to the barcelo which was fantastic for kids and staff were lovely I did have the option to book there but chose this one and got ripped off spent alot of money here so disappointed and mad with myself I made such an error on this hotel please if you go to almeria book the barcelo instead but avoid almeria altogether if you can especially if you have children no shops nothing to do beach is crap and rocky littered with fags ends and stuff wear footwear as you dont no what you'll step on I have to put my point across save hard working family there money also we booked sea view which wasn't the best either I'm so annoyed about this holiday could of gone so many beautiful places for what we paid please do your research before booking as I sound like a moaner but it takes alot for me to leave a bad review I will be contacting tui about this oh and they take pets l!! No disrespect to animals but come on more like a bnb and that's the level I'd give it.

I've never left a review but after my experience I feel I need to. We went here 1st to 8th June, we check in on first day, all is fine. We are told at check in the restaurant doesn't open until 8pm, not ideal when you have young children. We thought well lets walk out to the local restaurants, these are about 10 minutes walk away. We get to town about 6pm to find everywhere closed and nothing opened until 8pm also. We went to the hotel to enquire about this, apparently the whole area has a siesta from 3pm until 8pm so everything closes ( this includes the hotels pool bar). Even the local shops shut so if you haven't eaten by this time you have to wait. Also a lot of them are only open certain days so you have to plan this, we where on Google maps everyday checking opening times. In the hotel we where told to go to the room and order room service or wait until 8pm. They have 2 large pools, one of them was closed the whole week so we couldn't use it. It said on Tui, evening entertainment, not once where there any entertainment so we had to try and entertain ourselves, which was hard given everything in the area was closed. They had a fusion Italian Mexican restaurant also, sadly can't review this as this was also closed the entire week we where there. The kids club wasn't available either if our daughter wanted to see other children. The kids water slides where good, although the pool was filthy with dirt and dead bugs. The pool bar food was very bog standard and 3 times we ate there the food came to us cold. The sports bar opens at 8pm (no surprise) for 3 hours. 2 tvs in the corner playing MTV isn't really a sports bar. One night my wife woke up in the night to hear a dripping sound to find the air con had broke and there was a big puddle on the floor in the room. Told reception the morning after who sent a maintenance man to look. He said its fine and left without actually doing anything. The beach is walking distance but be aware this isn't a sand beach, its a pebble beach so a little uncomfortable even in the sea. This was advertised as being great for families with entertainment and kids club and great pools. We got none of this during the week. If you are happy to sit by a pool until 8pm before you can do anything or go anywhere then this is for you. If you want a variety of things and have children I must say AVOID AVOID AVOID. We won't be going here again, I was surprised to see so many 4 and 5 star reviews given we had to entertain ourselves every night, wait until 8pm to eat and then not be able to use all the pools and restaurants they have.
