Hillsfield House Bed & Breakfast Marlborough

Hillsfield House is a beautiful and private accommodation conveniently located in wine country. Jo and Steve were friendly gracious hosts who paid attention to detail and provided helpful information about their area and wineries. They have bikes available for touring the wineries and provide lots of information about those wineries. Breakfast was elegantly provided in our personal space and was delicious. Highly recommend this experience. Great choice!

We stayed in the detached Courtyard cottage, next to Steve & Jo’s house. Its a little home from home with everything you could possibly need for a holiday. Theres an upstairs bedroom & bathroom suite and downstairs well appointed kitchen with fridge, microwave and sink. And a comfortable sitting room/dining room. It’s beautifully decorated and furnished, so feels like home. Steve & Jo are very welcoming but respect your privacy, just dropping by with your breakfast in the morning along with their very well behaved dogs! They are always nearby should you have any questions about places to visit etc. Just so you know, cooked breakfasts are not provided- however, the fruit salad, fresh juice, choices of cereal and croissants were delicious and we certainly didn’t feel deprived! We stayed for 4 nights. Supermarket and pubs at Renwick - 5 mins on foot and Blenheim is 15 min, Picton about 30 minutes, Havelock about 30 minutes by car. At least 12 wineries are within a 2km flat bike ride so this is a perfect location for wine tasting. And fortunately, Jo & Steve also run the “Wine Tours by Bike” company and offer guests free self guided tours. You really don’t need to book another wine tour unless you don’t like cycling (its very flat everywhere!) We loved our stay here and would thoroughly recommend.
