Continental Hotel

The hotel is conveniently located next to the Reims train station, but reaching it was more challenging than expected. You need to exit the station through a specific platform exit that’s not easy to find, as there is little to no signage. We took the wrong exit, which added an extra 15 minutes to our walk to the hotel. Upon arrival, we were quite surprised by the reception—or rather, the lack of a traditional one. It consists of just a small coffee table with a single computer, where one staff member manages both check-ins and check-outs while constantly running back and forth to assist guests. Initially, I thought this was just a secondary station and that a more formal reception area existed elsewhere, but that wasn't the case. I couldn’t understand how one staff member could handle all the guests with such limited resources, especially during busy periods. I suspect it could easily become chaotic during peak hours. The room itself was quite small, and breakfast was not included in the rate. However, the hotel had an interesting offer: if we opted not to have housekeeping during our stay, they provided two complimentary glasses of champagne. We were happy with this arrangement, as we usually prefer not to have anyone enter our room during a short stay. We did enjoy our two glasses of champagne at the bar after dinner, which was a nice touch. That said, with no breakfast included, there might be better value options available in the area. It's also worth noting that finding a place for breakfast near the hotel wasn’t easy, with limited options within a 5-minute walk.

A lovely hotel in an excellent location. Very nicely appointed rooms and very welcoming staff. Public parking available outside with a hotel discount available. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We have been in France now for 20 days and this is the 8th hotel in as many cities/villages. This is by far the best accommodations thus far! While we have not had a bad hotel experience anywhere in France everything about this hotel is a step or three up from the others! Their staff are so helpful and all speak English so well that it is difficult to practice my very poor French as they tend to respond in English. They are so much fun and such friendly folks with a wonderful sense of humor.

Very nice hotel. Located right in the middle of everything, we thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. Each room is decorated differently -- some with very quirky items. The breakfast was excellent -- lots to choose from and we enjoyed the dinners. However, there is no A/C and we were SO hot. The duvet is really too much and if you open the window, you hear street noise. The staff are very nice.

Continental Hotel is located centrally in Reims and if coming by car, has a convenient underground parking lot across the street. The hotel is quiet and rooms spacious for two people and was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You are within walking distance to everything you need to see in Reims and we will definitely stay here next time!

Very friendly staff and a great bar! The room wasn’t huge, but it was big enough. Requests made to the staff were handled promptly and in a friendly manner. We got to know the names of many of the staff. And the location is perfect. The walk from the train station is less than five minutes.

Such a lovely hotel in the perfect location - 3 minutes walk to the station, there was a champagne festival tent on the main street outside. Our room was lovely, everything clean and modern and the staff are just adorable. Could not have been more helpful, booking a restaurant and giving us a glass of champagne for skipping room cleaning. We had a drink at the bar in the evening, lovely atmosphere and fun.

We stayed one night at The Continental Hotel on our way home from a European road trip. We booked a package which included dinner and a 1/2 bottle of champagne. At dinner we were told we could choose from the 50euro menu but we chose the 30euro menu instead as we preferred the menu options. When we got the bill we saw that they had deducted the difference of 2 x @20euros from the cost of the red wine that we had ordered as well which was unexpected and a pleasant surprise. We also got a discount on the cost of the public car park which is right next to the hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and we would certainly stay again. (The tarte tatin on the 30 euro menu was delicious!)
