Econo Lodge at the University

Older property. Was really sketchy- woke up to beer cans in the back of my truck and beer poured down my trailer. Front desk agent informed me at check in at 11pm at night that the security cameras didn’t work. Definitely won’t stay here again.

Coastal Carolina Graduation Weekend Stayed 3 nights for son's graduation at Coastal Carolina University. It's very close to campus. We have stayed here numerous times over the last 4 years. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Rooms are always clean. Beds are either 1 king or 2 queen, which is great, since many hotels only have doubles. Breakfast is included, but I don't prefer their hot food, so my husband just grabs a coffee. The Coastal Ale House is across the parking lot. Great food. Some things in the bathroom could use an upgrade, but not enough to not stay there. If you want fancy, go somewhere else. If you want a clean room and great price, this place is perfect.

The shower curtain is too short for the height of the rod. Bathroom floor gets soaked. No exhaust fan in bathroom means it VERY steamy and wet. Other than than our stay was fine

Pictures are not what the place rally looks like We didnt stay as they cancelled our reservation without notifying us which Im glad. This place stunk and the pictures dont show what the pace is really like.

Close to CCU I was in Conway visiting my son at college. Econo Lodge was close by the school. The cost was reasonable. The room was comfortable and clean. Front desk staff were polite and friendly.

Having stayed at other properties within only miles of this property, we would say that it was drastically inferior and not at all worth the price difference. The check in office was unattended with a note posted to call for someone to come. When he came, the clerk warned us that the door handle was installed backwards and lifted up. And then made an inappropriate and alarming joke about how that added an extra layer of security for female travelers who might be alone. Our room was in a separate building and the electronic lock on the building to enter did not properly lock. The safety latch on the room door was completely gone and when the clerk came and attached one it was still wobbly to the point where we moved an armoir in front of the door to feel comfortable sleeping. We were given one hotel size bar of soap for both washing your hands and showering. A hand-written note on an envelope was left under the TV asking for tips for housekeeping. The remote control was missing the back cover to keep the batteries in. To be fair the bed was clean, we did not see any bugs in the room and the bed was perfectly comfortable. Absolutely would not stay again. Cancelled a future reservation at the same hotel immediately after leaving.
