Katarino Spa Hotel

It could be considered almost impossible to find a hotel that fits all preferences - travelling with kids, as a couple, team building, weekend escape or a full vacation, but Katarino can fit all. Amazing food and excellent service comes on the top. Not to mention the spectacular scenery and the excellent amenities. Really worth a visit!

This was my first stay at Katarino SPA hotel and I hope it will not be the last - I really plan on visiting again in the summer season (I love going to the mountains in the summer). The SPA was great, even though they don't have an indoors kid's pool (since I have two kids this is kind of important for me). Still, we could spend 1-2 hours in the SPA with the kids and they liked it (the water in all the pools is warm). In terms of location - it is relatively close to Bansko, but you have to travel by car each day. Still, there are a lot of kids' activities taking place at the hotel's grounds - we took advantage of the free horse ride, but there were many others as well. Overall - another excellent hotel in Bulgaria! I can't wait to visit it again.

We visited the hotel at the end of July and here are my impressions Positive The hotel is located in the heart of the forest, a very pleasant and quiet place. It's so calm and away from the city so on the evening you can watch the stars. The rooms are large, the beds - very comfortable. We were accommodated on the first floor and had a huge terrace. The food is magnificent. Delicious, freshly prepared and healthy. The pools are nice, with warm water. The hotel is very suitable for families with children. There are many different entertainments for them. Negative There is no air condition in the hotel!!! If it is 35 C outside, it is hard to survive in a hotel without air condition. It's so hot inside the building. I really can't understand how is possible in such nice place to miss something so important. Cleanliness in the rooms is terrible. 4 days they didn't clean the balcony, the floor wasn't cleaned either, the beds weren't made. Luckily the towels, robes and sheets were clean. Young boys cleaned the walls of the pools, but all the dirt fell into the water. Pufff Otherwise, the staff is very nice and kind, and for a short break, the hotel is wonderful. If u have small kids, u will enjoy the place.

Great getaway from the hot weather, good staff, the food is soon tasty and lovely... The spa is clean and very comfortable, the rooms are also great and clean, spacious and cozy... We have been more times and we like it a lot, it's in the wood, quite place for relaxing and breathing clear air

We’ve visited this hotel a few times over the past few years. The location is excellent with beautiful views of the mountains (that is if your room is facing them). Unfortunately the bigger apartments all face the opposite side which has nothing to offer other than constant noise from the main entrance, parking lot and employees rest areas. This might not be a problem in the winter time but during the summer it makes a difference. The rooms are getting a bit old and outdated. So are the bathrooms. The pool and spa are nice. The spa team is amazing - they offer great services. The restaurant is good. The food is a bit hit and miss: the barbecue is dry and flavourless. The variety is not as big. The service and people are the hotel’s biggest assets. Everyone is extremely nice and helpful, going above and beyond to please.

The hotel has an incredible location, offers a great food and you can see the restaurant makes a great effort to keep top quality of food and service. Apart I would recommend the kids pool to be cleaned every day, children can’t hold their needs. Also I don’t understand what do 3 adults with one child in the pool?! Some guests received wine from the restaurant as a gift and there were some gifts for the babies but not for all. I doesn’t look good if you don’t treat all the guests in one way!
